New shaver Remington highly recommended
I am amazed first time use and it is very very close to the skin Ease of use very good comfortable in the hand Head and face shaving again very close and very comfortable I can highly recommend this shaver at this moment compared to my previously purchased product this product out strips it in many ways. Very easy to clean, value for money most definitely, as for hair removal it was a two day growth first used the turbo mode then the normal mode that way hair removal was excellent. Travelability with this shaver should be good as it comes with its own case not of a hard design so wrapped in with clothes should be fine. Update having used this now for a few times I can honestly say the best way to use is definitely use the Turbo setting first then turn it off then stretching out the skin go over nice and slow and the result is top notch job for sure. As for cleaning I find using a cut down pastry brush cleans far better then a good rinse of the head under the tap and it comes out like new. Update on review ok having used this shaver from February 2026 till now May 2026 cleaning it out after every shave as well I started to have problems the shave started to lack in quality and at times failed to work but I came across the fault the shaver body is great the problem is the blades failed after only 4months now I’ve purchased new heads it’s 100% again and now gives a very close cut so please be aware I stand by my initial review but time showed a problem with the head now cured.

1st impressions/update
Only used once but will update. I had a few days growth and it does say 1 to 2 days so I did put it through its paces. Shaved my head dry and it was easy and good. I did need to go over some spots at the back of my head as its thicker but that's normal and around the ears. Only thing was I got razor burn like a really bad rash on the back of my neck. I put post shave cream on but after a day its still red. Maybe I pressed on too much or I'm just over sensitive. Will update after my next couple of shaves. If I keep getting a rash on my neck I'll send it back. I'm used to wet shave my head but never liked the time it took and the shiny look of 1st doing my head. Like some growth. Even looking into Micropigmentation SMP. I've head this product is good for that. Update after using a few times now, I find that I'm not getting a rash if I don't shave too low on my neck and go light, letting the shaver do it's thing. Would recommend. As I said I'm going to get Smp Soon and I'm hoping this shaver isn't overkill, meaning I need some stubble to work well with the head tattoo. It is a close shave, almost like a wet shave. UPDATE 7 months on. Still great shaver, only thing is cleaning the blades fully out, rinsing with just water and banging hair out won't work. You'll need to look up on YouTube a video of someone taking it apart. It looks complicated but it's actually easy. Have 10 mins every few months to strip it all down and clean. It'll run like brand new again. Only 2 springs you could lose that are really small, so I suggested doing this on a table or counter top. Lift the rubber seals and then it'll all be really easy. It's super easy putting it all back together again. After a couple of times you'll get used to it. The amount of hair still clogged up inside the blades was a fair bit. I found the battery wasn't lasting aslong but that's because of all the hair inside it, runs the battery low as its working harder for the blades to spin. I added a drop of oil to the blades afterwards and it cuts clean. Argos are still selling the proper heads to go with these. The manufacturer says every 6 months to change the heads. Will I noticed from then that it wasn't running great so like I said I cleaned it all and it's brilliant again. My head is that smooth after it's like I've wet shaved.

Great head shaver - Easy does it!
I have revisited my review of this head shaver. Downgraded from 5 star to 1. Unfortunately over the week I have owned it, increasingly won't power on; displaying two opposite charge lights when trying to tun it on. You really have to fiddle about to get the thing to start and run. All this despite cleaning thoroughly after each use. The two charge lights means safety cut-out because of excess battery load. Excess battery load with a completely clean shaver and freely-rotating cutters strongly suggests that the electronics are wrongly calibrated for the factory installed battery IMO. Battery sag or voltage drop tripping the cutout. I'll see if this can't work itself out - If not it must return it. ------- I just received this. This RX7 Ultimate head shaver is very effective. After two full and thorough head shaves in about a thirteen hour interval I love it! I normally use a Wahl 1919 clipper to cut scalp stubble when it is too long. I wet-shave to get smooth bald. Sometimes you just want a quick and easy way to go for a convincing bald look. So … It is very apparent that little pressure is needed on the Remington RX7 for a good scalp-close shave. We all know what we are doing, of course. But for the RX7 I would suggest this - Start with low pressure/hand force initially. Shave your head completely. Use Straight lines, or circular motion as you need. Then run your fingertips all around your noggin to feel for high spots. Just like you would do with wet blade. Run the RX7 lightly over those areas again. Up-Down, Left-Right, Circular - It is your preference according to your hair growth pattern. You'll work it out after time. It's easy! Now - I always use a good balm after a scalp or face shave. It's good to smell nice and fresh, and feel cool. I use Nivea for men Protect and Care immediately after a head or face shave. I read several reviews where irritation is an issue with all head shavers. So I would recommend immediate application of a good quality aftershave balm that you trust and prefer, always. Then put on some high factor sun cream if you are a baldie outdoors. You know it makes sense! The RX7 is surprisingly lightweight. Not cheap-feeling. All plastic body construction. Comfy in the hand and in use. Whilst being USB cable charged and therefore easy to find a charge source globally - The shaver-side plug is proprietary. USB-A to proprietary 2 pin. You can get replacements from your Remington service centre apparently. I would hope they are free but probably not. It is probably worth securing some of these if you are a jet-setter and always plugging and unplugging. Something else to consider is that this shaver does not support USB passthrough. So you can't use it while it is on charge. The downside of this is that when the battery is beyond its service life, the device is useless. Unless you have the means to replace the battery. Or opt for the extra 1 on top of 2 year warranty. My initial thoughts are that this is a great shaver.

Strong performance and easy to use, just be aware of replacement heads
I’ve been using this head shaver every day for around a year now and overall it’s performed really well. It cuts quickly and evenly, and the shape of the head makes it easy to cover my whole scalp without having to go over the same areas again and again. I always use turbo mode and it has no problem handling daily use. It gives a clean shave and feels comfortable to use, even when I’m in a rush. Compared to other head shavers I’ve owned, this one feels well balanced in the hand and easy to control. Cleaning is straightforward as the head pops off easily, although it does clog up fairly quickly. That said, I’ve found this to be the case with every similar shaver I’ve used, so it’s not a surprise. A quick rinse keeps it working properly. Battery life has been very good. The charge time is quick and even after a year it still holds its charge well. I usually only need to charge it about once a fortnight with daily use. The travel pouch is a nice extra and something I actually use. I’ve taken it away on several work trips and holidays and it’s stayed protected in my bag with no issues. The only real downside for me is the replacement heads. I’ve had to replace them twice in the year, which adds to the overall cost. Aside from that, I’m happy with the performance and bought it partly for the brand reputation, which it’s lived up to. Overall, I would recommend it, just with the replacement head cost in mind.

Life changing device - genuinely makes things easy!
Short version breakdown: Buy it or the RX5if you want a hassle free life! Ratings: Shaving performance - 5/5 Battery/motor strength - 4.5/5 Durability/Build - 4.5/5 Ease of use - 5/5 Cleaning - 5/5 My experience: Easy, efficient, a joy to use really. I’ve had my RX7 for over a year now. I’m happy to say it’s had a lot of use and never let me down. The battery seems to be fine. I basically keep it charged up after using it for a few times. Don’t ever run a (lithium) battery down too far (beyond less than 20%). More detail: So, likes and dislikes eh? Yes, it’s not perfect. Just look at all those 1 star reviews, most of them are due to people getting razor burn around the very sensitive area of the neck. I did too so I stopped shaving that part with the same pressure I used for the rest of my scalp. Just do it very lightly and this will help or use something else for that part. Pros: * Battery life is good/very adequate but not as advertised (ie - don’t expect to use it for a whole month on one charge even if you’re using it every 3 days or so - unless your hair is super fine or there’s just fluff left) * Battery/motor power (don’t really use the high speed setting - I just go over my head more than once to get the best cut - if you have coarser hair then maybe it’s useful but of course you’ll take a hit in battery life) * Build quality is very good * It’s gentle on your scalp/boney head (I used this horrible torture device from Babyliss once upon a time that was murder, it hurt so much) * Reliable - mine’s lasted 14 months and counting - you can register at Remington for an extended 2 year manufacturer’s guarantee * Cuts very short (I was using the Wahl Balding clippers (zero grade) before and this probably beats it * Compared to corded clippers, this thing is so quick and easy to use * No mess at all! No clearing up - just snap the bladed section off (an apprehensive procedure the first few times) and brush the crud out (hair and powdery skin). Ie, it collects the hair - this is awesome really if you’ve been used to cleaning up afterwards. Saves so much time and effort! * Light to hold except I push it quite close to my scalp to maximise the cutting performance holding the neck of the device rather than the green/black body part so as not to break it. This could do with a redesign to strengthen this neck part and make it longer for people who do what I do. * The lightly padded travel case is very good and you can stick the proprietary USB charging cable in there along with the small brush etc * Makes me feel better having no hair * Quite quiet * You don’t need to stay tethered to an electric socket although you can’t use the device whilst charging either (which is a bit of a bummer) * If you shave regularly you don’t need to use a mirror to check the back of your head - just use your fingers and you’ll be ok (so, no real need to take additional stuff like mirrors etc with you if travelling). Cons: * A little pricey though far cheaper than those Skull cutter things. It’s very solidly. Built and reliable though so it’s well worth the asking price, particularly if it’s discounted a bit more as prices fluctuate sometimes * Flimsy cheap little brush * Quite expensive £25 asking price for the new replacement rotary blade assembly. It would be better if you could just replace the little individual rotary blades instead but having said that, it’s still better value than many other ‘named’ brands. Also, these blade assemblies are not always available and I couldn’t find them to purchase on the Remington site. * Using more pressure to cut better means holding the device by the neck which is awkward. My hands are medium sized so larger handed people will struggle more. I’m not really confident I should push so hard if I’m holding the shaver the recommended way that it won’t just snap in half at some point. * Remington should also consider switching to standard USB Type C charging cables - either C to C or the old USB A to C. Either or A to Micro USB 2 but that’s getting a bit old. One end of the cable they provide is USB A that will work with lots of phone chargers etc, but the other end that goes into the device is totally proprietary meaning, should you lose this cable you will need to source and buy another (should check this myself as I’m often losing/mislaying stuff). I bet the official cable ain’t cheap either. Plus, when you travel it would be great to just use your phone’s cable and charger. * The battery capacity/life isn’t really what they make out to be - yes, you can cut your hair in under 2 minutes sometimes but I like to really go over my head to get the cut as close as possible and in the past, I didn’t shave it everyday. You can get away with a week or more but of course, it will take longer to cut your hair and you risk leaving little eyebrow type patches on the back of your head if you let your hair grow. My hair isn’t very coarse or curly so some will struggle more if they leave it to grow longer. Most people should be ok. * Not quite as quick to get the job done unless you do it everyday, which is not much of a chore once you discover how easy this thing is to use - it’s bliss compared to every other solution I’m familiar with - wet shaving, clippers etc… * Possible severe shaving rash/razor burn on the sensitive areas of the nape of the neck/throat - be gentle. I think my neck may have gotten a little less sensitive - I just shave it very lightly but I don’t have very coarse hair so your mileage may differ as they say. Initially I did have a few very red and sore razor burns but I just had to change what I was doing. Problem solved like they say. * Not as close as a proper razor blade but so much less hassle. It’s still a good performer - I think the result depends on how much pressure you use (be careful though), how much you go over a particular area (hence time spent), how frequently you shave your bonce, and your hair type (coarseness, colour etc). I’ve noticed guys with darker skin, tanned or black friends etc, there’s no real hair line left - total Kojak! With me, I can see a kind of darkish grey colour where the hair’s still growing. I wish it wasn’t like that but you can’t the hair so it’s really short - it’s likely to just be that my natural mousey coloured hair is showing. Tips: * Never lubricate the rotary heads - they will clog up. Unlike clippers, using mineral oil isn’t necessary. I did this once and despite routine diligent cleaning after every cut, the head shaver started mysteriously cutting out despite the rotary blades looking completely clean. * It’s possible to disassemble the black rotary head assembly and really get to closely examine the individual rotary blades. I gave them each a deep clean with good old washing up liquid and warm water. And after letting them dry, they were back to the job again. Of course, I didn’t figure this out right away. It took a while as it appeared there was something wrong with the battery or some such. * Clean it regularly. So, I just use a much better quality and stiffer Wahl clipper brush I got for an old pair of clippers once upon a time. The flimsy little brush they give you is pretty naff in the main. It’s not stiff enough otherwise it would be fine. * In my experience there’s no real need to rinse it after use or otherwise deep clean it, though I’m not saying don’t do this. I’m sure it’s not a bad idea. I’m just a bit lazy I guess. * Keep it charged. So, what are you waiting for? A free sample? An invitation from that smug guy who bought the company he liked it so much? Like quite a few other’s, I really really love this device. It’s totally changed the way I groom - I take much better care of appearance and I don’t need to wear hats to hide the ugly growth that I couldn’t be doing with getting the clippers, mirror, clipper combs, blade oil out for all the time. If I wasn’t such a tight git I’d throw those things away as far as I could manage. I’m a happy baldy now. It’s great having no hair. I wish it just stopped growing altogether now actually. Laser maybe? I don’t think there’s an affordable treatment/cure for baldness coming any time soon is there? This is the next best thing if you want a smooth head. Although it doesn’t cut quite as short as a razor blade, it’s a helluva lot easier to do and you won’t nick yourself or slice off any zits or whatnot.

Great head & beard shaver
The Remington RX7 is fast, smooth, and comfortable to use. The 7-head design covers a large area, giving a close shave with no irritation. Battery life is excellent, works well for wet and dry shaving, and is easy to clean. Highly recommended for head shaving & beard.

Shaves heads - but didnt last a year
Original post 31/12/2025, Updated 14/02/2026 - shaver has failed! Having delayed writing the initial review below leaving until 6 months into use, maybe i have spoken too soon praising this shaver. Today 14/02/2026 the shaver has failed, it will not switch on even though fully charged. It is lighting up to confirm the charge and rumbles as it tries to start, but sadly other than that, not a peek coming out of it. As the shaver was doing so well hubby had high expectations for getting somewhat longer from it. The shaver has months to go before it reaches its first birthday. As i didnt want to risk buying another in case it failed in a similar <1year timeframe, it have ordered a (earlier model) Remmington RX5 Hopefully the RX5 will do better. Looks like the RX5 has a 2-prong plug instead of a usb cable and more visible charging/battery lights. See how this new one performs. Removed 2 stars for the short lifespan as disappointed. ‐----------‐------------------------- Purchased as a present for hubby in May 2025 after constantly taking chunks out if his scalp with his old shaver. Have waited a reasonable amount of time to submit this review to flesh out any issues he may have found with it, or any malfunction in the shaver itself having read other reviews. Based on the shaver received i can confirm that no issues have arisen with the head shaver itself. Hubby shaves his head every day and no cuts. The head shaver leaves behind no stubble, just a smooth head. The head shaver is cleaned each time after use with the brush provided. The battery life (charge) is only what you'd expect from using any electrical product every day. Charged via USB in an acceptable time. After months of use the cutters are still doing fine. Ergonomic-wise it is a good shape which is really important when you are working behind the head and can't see what you are doing! This head shaver is quite light in weight and has travelled in its carry pouch, fine with use of adaptor in Europe. Overall Hubby is really pleased with this head shaver and wishes that he'd known about these shavers before as previously he's been using a normal shaver on his head. For him it's been a more positive experience than some of the other reviewers who have unfortunately purchased the same item and whose shavers have failed them after only a short time. For daily use from point of purchase i would consider this head shaver to be good value for money for what was paid and hope it will last for quite a while yet. Should it ever need replacing in the future, I'd be happy to repurchase a Remmington model.
