(the instructions recommended 20 mins but after reading other reviews here, i started with 8). the shampoo smelled pretty good and not overwhelming of chemical scent like box dyes and i was super pleased with the color. it looked very natural - though unfortunately it washed out in about 2 weeks. i did it over the sink and there were no stains or anything which i was also pleased with. after those 2 weeks, i did another treatment and decided that time to leave it in for 15 minutes. from there, i went straight to the shower and rinsed it out there and continued with the rest of my shower (i didn't shampoo, just rinsed and conditioned). the results after that were perfect. it looked perfectly natural and blended in with the rest of my hair and the best thing - it now has lasted over a month and i'm just starting to see it slowly fade and wash out. it's not like permanent dyes where you can clearly see the new hair growth and a defined line at the roots as new hair grows out. the color just fades gradually and any grays that start to appear look very natural. its been over a month now and i am going to soon re-apply it to restore the color once again. would i buy it again? a resounding yes!...though this bottle is huge and since you can dispense just what you need each time, i can see this lasting way more than a year, maybe two, so i won't need to buy more any time soon!
