Slime 20053 Bike Skabs Patch Kit, for bike tube puncture repair, contains 6 patches and a metal scuffer

I have used these patches for several years. I already use Slime, from the same range, in my inner tubes which has saved me from probably several punctures and sealed other small punctures caused by thorns, but occasionally I have used a bike before Slime has been applied - and then been caught out. Compared with conventional patches which are glued onto a roughened inner tube, I find these quicker and easier to use at the roadside. My only observation is that they tend to adhere better when warm so as soon as I spot a puncture, I pop a Skab into a pocket or into a sock to warm it up while removing the inner tube from the tyre and then fit the warmed-up Skab. So far, I haven't had any fail out of probably about 7 used and, as far as I'm aware, they are still in situ now some years later. Excellent.

They're very good and handy, good quality, easy-to-apply bike inner tube patches.

Personally not impressed. I followed the instructions and used three patches on a puncture without success. Ended up using a regular patch and that worked great. Not impressed at all.

Like many I recently bought a Cycle online to help cope with the extreme boredom. I was about to go on my 3rd ride out when I saw I had a flat rear tyre. Luckily I had bought some of these slime skabs , tyre levers and a saddle bag when I bought the bike. I saw the end of a thorn in the tyre and noted the spot. Removed the torn and pulled the inner tube out of that spot without removing the wheel. You rough up the area with the steel file type thing thats supplied, peel the back off a skabs patch and stick on straight away. I put the tube back in and inflated straight away to 45psi. That was about a month ago and it hasn't lost a single psi of pressure. Extremely easy to use and no messy glue ! Very highly recommended.

I’ve used Slime products before and been happy with them so when I needed puncture repair patches, these seemed to be an obvious choice. I’ve used them on three punctures now and all three were repaired at home in ideal conditions, not out on the road. I’ve got to say I’m disappointed with the results and this is why . . . 1. The patches are hard to get off the backing when you’re wearing latex gloves. 2. The tool supplied to roughen the surface of the tube is not very effective 3. The patches are thin and translucent, which is fine but it does make it obvious that they are not adhering very well. 4. They do not stick to a tube with Slime on it so you’ll need some rubbing alcohol or similar to clean off the tube first As I was at home, I was able to properly clean the tubes with isopropyl alcohol. I then roughened the surface and carefully applied the patches as directed in the minuscule directions. It was obvious straight away that they were not adhering to the surface of the tubes very well but as I had no others available, I went ahead and refitted the tubes and tyres anyway. Sure enough, two went flat overnight and the third was holding ok. I may have just been unlucky with this set of patches and got some that are a little old or had a factory defect, but I wouldn’t want to replace them with more of the same. I’ve now purchased some traditional glue on patches and redone all three with 100% success. Every product I review is one I have purchased myself. They were good enough for the money I paid!

Wouldn't reccomend at all, ended up just buying a new initube in the end which saved alot of hassle. Tried applying these patches with tyre inflated and deflated made no difference at all, the patch would either just bubble up once air was in, or peel away at the edges releasing the air again from said puncture. The amount of time u use 2 get the wheel off, initube out, find the puncture, patch it up put wheel etc all back on again then have it go down on you all over again honestly do not waste your time just buy yourself a new initube doesnt cost much different in the price and definitely saves alot of time

Great quick fix product, stick well and don’t leak

He comprado estos parches por los comentarios que he leído. Arto de que se seque la disolución de los parches y cuando vas a utilizarlo no puedes poner el parche. Parecen parches de plástico con adhesivo. No los he probado todavía pero los llevaré encima cuando salga. Todo bien recibido. Gracias.

Jag har tidigare använt Park Tools liknande produkt men denna kändes bättre, i alla fall vid själva lagningen. Tiden får avgöra hur bra lagningen håller.

Elles ont toujours bien fait le boulot depuis que je les utilise. Après, pour un gros trou sur une couture de la chambre a air, elles sont peut-être un peu petites, mais pour une réparation rapide d'un petit trou, c'est très pratique.

I tried to use the product twice to give a chance and to see if I just installed the 1st one incorrectly. The 2nd application was much better than the 1st as the tire remain inflated almost 24 hours. Its a mistake to buy this product. You will just throwing your money.
