Very good revision guide
Very good. Currently doing my GCSEs and it's been very helpful so far. It explores the different themes of the play in detail and explains the context of the setting, which is sometimes necessary if you want to get the highest grades in exams. I would rate the York notes version more highly than the CGP. I have both and definitely think that the York notes are better.

Purchased previously for older child, excellent revision material for GCSE.

Study book support
Simple enough text for the hardest of reader to understand. Making it an excellent addition for the book.

Hopefully this study aid won't call for an English re-sit!
My son's English teacher recommended the York notes and workbooks as 'being the best' to help him study and navigate the new English GCSE syllabus. Since the introduction of the new grading system of 1-9 (9 being the A* equivalent and not 1, go figure!) this year attaining a higher grade has never been more important, especially as this year the grading system is only applicable to Maths and English exams. It won't be confusing at all having numbers and letters on your CV, now will it? Thanks Mr Gove! Glad to see you got yours! The study guide has focused my son's efforts and given him specific points and targets as sadly these exams are about answering questions in a set way and not being creative at all, useful if you want to be a robot! I won't be able to comment on their effectiveness until August '17 but I do know that these well-written, concise guides will have helped him to prepare for whatever is going to be contained on those papers.

Detailed and to the point
I studied the book last year but my exam is this summer, so I had forgotten most of the stuff. Panicking, I ordered this revision guide. Didn't expect much from it at first because most revision guides I've used to date are frankly useless. But after reading this in one sitting along with the play, I surprised myself by being able to complete a past paper question from my exam board in 45 minutes. I found the 'Aiming High' sections particularly useful as they give you original ideas for thought and they link together different themes. There is not enough information for this to be your sole guide for the exam - you still need to read the play to draft your own analysis and interpretations. Nevertheless, at around 5 pounds, I'd say this is a bargain.

I would recommend this for someone wanting a quick overview of the ...
The guide, although informative, only offers a narrative of the text rather than in depth analysis and I would therefore have to say that it is suited to grade 4-6 students. I would recommend this for someone wanting a quick overview of the play, however it is in no means a necessity for high level students as it simply relays information that they would most likely have gathered alone.
