I'm a little disappointed to be honest. Gnarly Joe is a good brand because they only use natural ingredients, which is kind to sensitive skin and unlikely to have nasty side effects. The problem with this product is it isn't really fit for purpose. It acts more like a beard oil or conditioner than a styling wax. When rubbed or brought to the temperature of human skin the 'wax' melts and basically becomes an oil. This does neaten the beard up slightly but it is incapable of styling my moustache. If I add more I just start to look very greasy with no improvement to hold. Either the percentage of beeswax needs to be increased a lot or they need to rethink this one. Maybe rebrand as styling butter instead of wax.

Firm hold without being ridiculous, nice smell and lasts a while. Not too greasy and washes out easily. Everything you want and nothing you don't.. overall best I've tried.

Definitely not a waxy product, more of a moisturiser. Unfortunately has no hold whatsoever, does leave the beard feeling nice and smooth though. My beard is long and have used a lot of this product to try and get the effect it is selling. It may be better for very short beard but definitely not straightening or styling

I have the world’s most unstraightenable beard, so I didn’t really have a lot of faith in this, despite it coming from the faultless stable of products that is Gnarly Joe. I’ve straightened my beard with oil, wax, gel, clay, balm, powder, fibre, heated straighteners and even a heated beard brush, with short-time limited success. So my thought of his Gnarliness’ product- it goes on nice, feels good and even straightens the majority of my beard, although not the very ends… I can live with that, it’s way better than 99% of beard products, plus I recently got a secret weapon to try on the ends… a wax so strong you have to physically heat it before you can even scrape it out of its tub! I’ll certainly be using the Gnarly Joe Styling and Straightening Wax daily in future as it helps my beard look good, and I feel good too, knowing the natural ingredients are responsibly sourced and never tested on Animals. I’ve become a bit of a Gnarly Joes addict, owning most of their products since I first fell in love with the Beard Softener last year, and they all do a sterling job, helping this 51 year old to feel a little younger and a lot better pampered where his skin, beard, eyes, face and even feet are concerned. Il balsamo che usavo in precedenza (quello della Mr Bear Family) non mi soddisfaceva a pieno. La mia barba lunga circa 4 cm, crespa e indomabile, appariva più folta e gestibile, ma al tatto risultava sempre dura e poco idratata. Attratto dall'ottimo inci, ricco di ingredienti nobili naturali dall'alto potere idratante e nutriente (Burro di Karitè, Olio di Argan, Olio di Jojoba, Olio di Vitamina E, Olio di Mandorle dolci, Olio di Nocciolo di Albicocca, Olio di Avocado, Olio di semi di Zucca, Olio di Vinaccioli, Olio di Semi di Canapa), ho deciso di acquistare questo balsamo nella speranza di trovare finalmente una soluzione alla secchezza della mia barba. Le mie aspettative non sono state disilluse; lo uso ormai da un mese e non posso più farne a meno!! Ho finalmente la barba che desideravo, morbida e setosa. Data la consistenza abbastanza compatta, consiglio di "attivare" il prodotto strofinandolo tra le mani (o con l'ausilio di un phon) prima di applicarlo sulla barba. Il balsamo si assorbe rapidamente, non unge, a patto di non esagerare con la quantità (poco più di mezza falange va più che bene). L'assenza di profumazione per me non è un difetto, anche se non a tutti piacerà l'odore naturale dei principi attivi contenuti all'interno (se proprio vi dà fastidio o non piace alla vostra partner, potete risolvere con qualche spruzzo del vostro profumo preferito), motivo per cui consiglio all'azienda di prendere in considerazione l'idea di formulare anche dei balsami profumati che abbiano la stessa efficacia del prodotto unscented. Ho acquistato anche l'olio per la barba di questa marca, che ha la stessa composizione del balsamo, ad esclusione del Burro di Karitè e della Cera d'Api. Anch'esso un ottimo prodotto, un olio leggero che si assorbe rapidamente senza ungere. Tuttavia, trovo che per la mia barba il balsamo sia leggermente più ammorbidente rispetto all'olio (essendo la composizione quasi la stessa credo che la differenza la faccia il Burro di Karitè). L'unica nota negativa è stata il packaging: la scatolina di cartone con all'interno la boccetta di vetro contenente l'olio è arrivata aperta, fortunatamente quest'ultima era integra e non è fuoriuscito l'olio. Consiglio ad Amazon di utilizzare un imballaggio che tenga fermi i prodotti all'interno del pacco, proteggendoli dagli urti che possono capitare durante la trafila dei vari corrieri.
