S/S Permatex® - Window Defogger Repair Kit - Quality Repair in Minutes - 2.8ml #09117

I repaired 5 broken elements on the back window - these elements are very fine. The breaks were up to a 15cm in places; seems that the previous owners had something in the back that scrapped off the elements.I did what one of the other reviews did and used painters (Green) tape to give me the lines I needed. Make sure that the window and the element silk screen backing are clean - I used an IPA solution. Put on one coat and let it dry for a minute and then re apply until the line is opaque. I didn't use the brush that came with it but a very fine watercolor paint brush. Before it totally dries lift off the tape - peeling away from the new element. I then touched up any places that I thought need it. I then allowed it so thoroughly dry for a week and then tested it with multi meter for continuity - all was good. The acid test - did it work. Yes it did! We've had a couple of frosty mornings and the repaired elements did their job ok. Very pleased.

Very helpful to have this repair kit if a few heating elements are brocken. If your electrically minded and you know how to find + repair the elements this is for you.The only small critisism i have is the electrical paint is in a tiny touch-up jar, could have done with more for what i needed, you need to have a few coats for it to work well

Having frustratedly tried to fix my rear window tab back on in several occasions - I finally bought this kit and had it fixed within ten minutes. Great kit does a fab job. My aygo rear window heater is back up and running. Would highly recommend. If your a lady don't be scared of this product comes with good instructions and everything you need. If the product doesn't work you've probably go a break elsewhere in the circuit

Piece of junk. It will stick the tab to the window alright but it won’t conduct electricity and send power to the grid. Followed all of the instructions precisely. Save yourself the money and the trouble and buy some solder and a soldering iron and solder the tab back on which is what I am going to do now. Once I pry the now stuck tab back off the window. Scam product should not be on the market.

This product worked for me, I bought it to repair 4 defogger grid lines which had been damaged and no longer worked. Instead of using the stencil to repaint the lines I used some blue painters masking tape. The instructions say to remove the stencil within 30 minutes, but the first time I did this it also pulled off the lines I had painted (as some others had said). The trick is to remove the stencil almost immediately after you have applied the paint, whilst it is wet it will stay on the window. Then let it dry and repeat the process when you apply the second coat of paint.

I had no use for the majority of the kit which was devoted to repairing tabs, as opposed to grid lines. I only needed to repair grid lines and the conductive paint for that purpose worked fine for me. It would be nice if it were available separately and I would rate it 5 star if it was. But it's not so its only a 3 - and how common are broken tabs anyway? .

Fixed a 40+ year old de-mister, took four days as some of the lines failed once the current was able to flow. Threw the brush away as a cocktail stick worked better, didn’t use the template as I had lots of fine cracks to fix so used masking tape instead, can a razor blade to clean excess. The fix has to be left for a day before you use hence four days.

Unlike some other products of this type, the defogger paint at least conducts electricity, but that's about the only positive. I paid £30 for this and the price has gone up again. Unfortunately, if you paint the lines on using masking tape, the paint comes off with the masking tape once dry.I also had to pay almost £5 postage to return it - all other Amaxon returns are free - £5 is too much to pay to return something that doesn't work.

Tried to fix the ben but the glue doesn't work although i have followed the instruction and tried twice

Works really well. However, applying is tedious work - especially if trying to repair a severely damaged window. I didn’t bother to use the template. Instead I used some 3M purple tape as a template to maintain a straight line. After drying I checked continuity with my multimeter.

Ottimo prodotto, bisogna preparare bene le due superfici, ho lasciato agire l’attivatore circa 3 minuti e dal momento dell’applicazione del collante elettrico, in circa 1 minuto era solidamente attaccato. Eseguita prova di continuità con il tester ed é risultato perfettamente collegato al resto del circuito. Per scrupolo l’ho collegato appena vicino alla zona originale solo perché di più facile preparazione con la carta vetrata per riportare il rame a “vivo” (Fiat 500 2008). Personalmente lo consiglio.

Worked well. Used it to reattach a heater grid tab back onto the window. Have to remember to use the area of the window with conductor still present. The tab broke off and took some of the conductive surface with it. Glued the tab in another spot.

Quel bonheur, cet hiver ma lunette arrière se dégivrera seule :)Bon la mise en oeuvre est un peu longue (il faut tenir la pate jusqu'à adhérence complète), pour que la colle prenne bien et que la pate ne ressaute pas de la lunette, je m'y suis reprise à 3 fois, parce que je n'ai pas de patience, toutefois j'ai eut assez d'activateur et assez de colle pour cela et surtout CA FONCTIONNE !!!!Alors comme c'est un kit complet je vais pouvoir également réparer les filaments car je n'ai que 3 lignes qui dégivre mais je pense qu'il doit exister des micro coupure sur les filaments qui ne fonctionne pas.Toutefois, je suis ravie du produit, je suis un peu bricoleuse mais sans plus et surtout pas concernant les voitures, et c'est très accessible, la notice est bien faite et clair à suivre avec les photos.Je recommande !
