Easy to assemble, very sturdy and extreme comfort
After doing some research on office chairs for months, I decided to go with office hippo as it seemed like one of few reputable brands. Lets face it a lot of these chairs look exactly the same so I searched for 24 hour use, ergonomic and one that can take a lot of weight as I am a stocky guy. I took a plunge on this chair as it ticked all the boxes and seemed to have the deepest seat cushion I could find and was reasonably priced to expect quality but not into the 600/700+ range which is what a lot of companies pay for office chairs. Well it arrived and was well packaged. When buying these assemble yourself chairs you are always scared its gonna be a nightmare to assemble like my previous Argos chair was, but I had finished building the chair within 20-30mins. Honestly I think it is one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in. Its better than any chair I have ever had at work due to the deepness of the seat cushion, firmness and adjustability. Most chairs dont actually support your back, but within a couple of minutes I was able to dial in just the right settings that would let me feel really comfortable and supported, but yet with good posture. As a music producer, I need a chair that I can sit in for long periods and posture is so important so we don't create back problems, I am very confident that this chair will outdo any chair you have sat in for posture, comfort and support. The build quality is great with 90% of the chair being solid heavy metal with plastic only where it makes sense. It feels built like a tank and like it will last a long time. Overall I'd give this chair 10/10 because if you spent £500 more, you'd have no guarantee you'd get anything better and could even get worse for your money. Anyone considering this should just go ahead, and don't bother to buy assembly unless you have mobility issues, as this is easy to assemble.

Amazing Chair, excellent quality... :0)
This chair is excellent and top qualityYou have to put it together when received butIt is easy to do and the instructions are very easy to follow. The chair is so comfortable and very well made. It glides over the floor so easily and you can alter the hight, recline, and even the arm rests can be higher or lower. It can be altered to become a perfect fitting chair personal to you.Very happy with the chair and well worth the money100% Recommend... :0)

Good basic, no frills office chair.
Received yesterday to replace an old chair that lasted 17 years and was on its last legs. The chair arrived and was unpacked and parts laid out with clear instruction on a single A4 paper on how to assemble and to adjust. I used my own tools but the supplied allen keys are fine and it took around 10 mins to have it up and running but to be fair I started my working life at Verco who manufacture office chairs and furniture so its just like most chairs to assemble. The chair has plenty of adjustments or be it in basic form and is ample for the use I need. The back can be free to move or locked, the base can be free to move or locked(no length adjustment), the seat forward tilt can be locked to remain flat, the rests have height adjustment with a small amount of side adjustment, back rest section has height adjustment on a simple lift and lock notch system, there is a spring control to alter tension for free movement of the seat when leaning back and the height of the chair can be adjusted. The cloth is a typical hard wearing material and the padding is medium to hard which for me is what I was after. The stitching looks fine and is even around the cloth joints.Time will tell how the foam stands up on the seat base and if the rear joints holding the back rest stands up to the test of time but first impressions is that its a good quality basic office chair. One point worth mentioning is the back support plate with the nut has been spot welded on and if you find the screw a tad tight to screw its ok to keep on screwing in as its the heat that just has a slight effect on the nut but its a strong joint and not a problem. Its also worth insuring that when you screw the adjustment panel on the the base of the seat that you insure its level as there is a bit of play in the screw holes on the plate. The instructions also show the side rest brackets need to be screwed on but mine were already fixed which is fine as it saved me doing it.Just two little mentions, the instructions don't mention the side adjustment on the arm rests and there is no mention of the adjustment for altering the height of the back rest section.A little side note is that while £190 seems a lot, office chairs can run into hundreds and more but for the price it seems at first glance to be fine.

All in all a bad design, badly made.
£200 chair which looks great on paper.Chair quality was suspect out of the box, but decided to give it a go as after an hour building it (a Masters in engineering probably didn't help matters), it was really comfy. The chair is supposed to have four positional functions, but one of the handles just seems to twiddle happily without seemingly doing anything from the start. After 3 months of light to medium use (I spend half my time away from home working away) two of the three remaining positional functions suffered catastrophic failure. The "seat tilt" which moves your knees closer to and away from the floor became loose in grip, resulting in it twanging fully forward every time I nudged the seat closer to the desk with my bum (10 times an hour). Then the ratchet on the seat back which raises or lowers the backrest height failed, resulting in having to raise it and keep pressure backwards every time I sat on the thing. This is the point a return was raise and a replacement chair ordered through the ever brilliant Amazon from a different source.Stay well clear if you have any interest in a comfy and reliable desk chair. My last one was a Staples special for around the same money and lasted 11 years. This one 3 months.
