I have just tried it, and no, it does not cast from youtube on my Chromebook. However, that may not be the definitive answer. **Q: Is it Chromecast compatible?** A: It certainly compatible with the Mac, in fact i don't know of any other speaker system (if you have 2 speakers) that is stereo and Airplay compatible. It works a dream. Go for the 50w as the smaller one won't have the volume when you're outside. **Q: Hi, Can the speaker be used as an additional speaker and linked to Google Home?** A: It's a regular Bluetooth speaker. The app allows to connect spotify and maybe a couple more apps and also other August speakers. You would need a Chromecast Audio to use it as an output to your Google Home as Chromecast support is not built in. **Q: My hi-fi doesn't have bluetooth or wi-fi. Can I plug it to one of these speakers and hear the same sound in other speakers in different rooms?** A: No. You'd need to send the audio from iTunes on a Mac or PC to your hifi via an audio cable (if it has an auxiliary input) then you could also stream audio via Airplay to the portable speaker. Or get yourself an Airport Express for the hifi to add Airplay capability, but be aware that only iTunes can do multiple speakers at the moment. When I opened it i thought "oh man this is tiny" but it really kicks out some good volume. Good clear sound quality. The bass and drums are nicely defined so that you don't end up with them merging into one farty noise together. It is really easy to set up and use.
