Purnam - Stories & Wisdom of the Feminine Divine

Books like these can't quite be reviewed. They capture something deep and profound about India's heritage and the eternal nature of the Hindu religion. So let me just state that I loved everything the artist Abhishek Singh and his team accomplished in these books. I never quite expected the artwork to be so immersive, detailed, and beautiful. It truly gave off epic vibes. The stories contained between the covers brought India's rich and ancient beliefs to life in more ways than one. I wouldn't call the books religious, per se, but they did possess an incredible weight of spirituality and symbolism just waiting to be explored, or rather re-explored.

Abhishek Singh has done it yet again. The master storyteller left me speechless and inspired with his work on Namaha, and right as rain, Purnam follows the trend. Being a longer read than Namaha, Purnam is packed with even more beautiful illustrations. Each page reflects a beautiful story- through astounding visuals paired with intricately woven paragraphs that explore widely unknown or sidelined themes in the Hindu mythos. Highly recommended if you're an avid reader, spiritualist, artist, a collector or just someone who is fascinated by the power that stories hold.

Disclaimer: My knowledge of art is limited. Opinion: I am impressed, Abhishek Singh! Purnam is a collection of random sketches, broad brushstrokes, fine shading and precisely lined pictures imagined into reality by the author, along with his sometimes rather deep spiritual musings upon the Devi mythology. My small criticism would be the somewhat 'western' influence on the demonic elements; I would have loved it all the more if the author had allowed his otherwise great creativity to flow more freely through them too. Print quality: very good. Binding: great! Summary: eagerly awaiting the next book!

The book is beautiful beyond words. I have had my blissful experiences while reading it. It’s one of those pieces, wherein you know- it’s not the author who has painted or written the words, but has become an instrument and let the divine flow through his work. Abhi‘s work is exactly that. I have had my moments of bliss, teary eyes and exclamation while reading it. Would recommend it to one and all, who connect with the divine energy as Devi Ma or to anyone who wants to experience art, and a flow of divine poetry at the same time. Thankyou so much for sharing Purnam with us- it indeed is Purnam ☺️. It is part of Devi Mahathmya retold in english. So if one knows the stories of the Up-Puran nothing is new. rated four for illustrations in the book which are stuupendous.

Abhishek Singh narrates the constant struggle between the two forces - Good & Bad, Suras & Asuras, and Life & Death in this book beautifully and makes the reader realise that it’s all the same at the end; the energy goes back to the place from where it originated; the cosmic womb. “ Yet, on different planes and realms, like a river, it (time) flows differently, based on the terrains over which it has to endure its course. The mind, body and spirit, experience time differently, and hence, to find an alignment becomes important, without that balance, turbulence may be felt across these worlds." - explains the beauty of inevitable death for all. Have been a avid follower and reader of Baba’s work, and have been eagerly waiting for this one since the time it was announced; the wait for worth it. Definitely recommended!!

I stumbled upon Abhishek Singh's art by luck, chance and algorithm but have been a fan ever since I laid eyes on his art. The books portrays mystical, majestic and graceful depictions of Goddess and Devis amongst many other mythological beings. The art work speaks volumes for itself which goes along with the dialogues and texts besides. A visual treat for my eyes and the artwork which takes me on a journey and makes me think, what else do you need from a book Regards, Chaitanya

A great read with lovely pictures for all the family.

Its beautiful work of art and as a western American perspective, I wish more people read more literature from this culture. We believe in our ego too much to see the truths out there. To hold each other as sacred life. We see from the world how much we didnt learn this lesson

Beautiful art. Stories are which but it's the art which shines and it's the reason I bought. Also checkout Namaha from the same author.
