This fits perfectly on my Yamaha F4 outboard. Its on a 14 foot jon boat and when by myself I have to get my weight forward to keep the boat from wallowing. Davis Instruments make great gear and I have some of their other products. This extension seems pretty sturdy and the mounting collar fits my outboard throttle sleeve just fine. The only thing that worries me is how easily the locking button for the extension length can be depressed. I would like to see a stiffer spring in there or something that makes it harder to accidentally depress the button while under way. I added a piece of pool noodle to this extension to make it float just in case. Good product Davis Instruments!

I honestly think this seller should do a better job of advertising their product. I fit checked it on my little Johnson 6hp motor and fits like a glove and works great. I don't think they did a good enough job showing the features, so I included a few photographs of how the handle extends with the little tent pole detent button. Not sure how long the hard plastic material and metal threaded block for the bezel will last since I haven't had it long enough to rate that (durability), but I do like the design and it extends further than most of the other products I've seen here on Amazon. I think it will fit my application better than most would have.

Where it connects to the tiller, could be a little more sturdy however, works perfectly! Would recommend.
