My favorite inulin fiber source.Since this is Jerusalem artichoke powder, I like that this is a minimally processed whole-food inulin source, rather than a purified or modified inulin. Because it is minimally processed, it more likely contains a broader range of inulin chain lengths—short, medium, and long—rather than being standardized toward shorter chains only (e.g., "FOS").Many commercial inulin products on the market are fractionated or enzymatically trimmed to improve solubility and taste (sweetness). That may be desirable for some, but it also reduces or removes longer-chain inulin. I prefer having the full spectrum so fermentation occurs throughout the colon, including the mid and distal regions—not just the proximal colon.On account of it being whole-food and less processed, I expect this product to be less soluble and not sweet. So, I simply mix 2–3 g with about 1 cup of water using a protein shaker and shake vigorously. I usually take it shortly before eating plain nonfat Greek yogurt.If you are looking for a whole-food, less processed inulin rather than a refined fiber additive, this is an excellent option.
