It is great at detangling my waist length hair quickly & smoothly! I never knew just how badly my brushes were working until I had this brush which made me realize that brushes actually really could painlessly & effortlessly detangle as claimed. I thought that it was just the way it was. I was proven wrong by this brush & very gratefully so. I would recommend this brush to anyone! I have used it with my very long straight hair & bought another for a friend with extremely long, curly hair that has children with both super curly & straight hair & it also gets the job done for them effortlessly as well & without tears which is a new thing. Tangles & snarls are a thing of the past & it leaves hair soft, smooth & shiny & I also have less flyaways & frizz. I have this brush in both the small size & the large size because I love it so much & both fit great in my hand & glide through my hair with ease. The bristles don't get caught & pull. I start at the bottom & work my way up & if the brush gets caught up I just remove & work it through again & voila!
