I’m interest in placing this on top of a 3 inch memory foam topper on top of my mattress, has anyone done this?

I did and it was comfortable but the 3" memory foam that I purchased really didn't need anything additional. I ended up putting this in Duvet cover and use it as a blanket. Heavy, comfortable and cheaper than weighted blankets...Had I purchased the memory foam first I probably wouldn't have looked for a topper.

Does it make the bed hot? I need a cool or neutral surface.

Absolutely NOT hot. I have tried every type of gel foam graphite fancy pad you can imagine, all claiming to be cooling, and they all made me sweat my ass off. This pad does NOT make me hotter and I am thrilled I’ve finally found something that works.

Could a twin be used on half of a king-size bed if only one person wants more cushion? Does it come in twinXL which would be the better size?

You could use it on half of a King size bed. I have read that it works well. I’m sorry that I don’t have any experience with twin XL.

How well does this support plus sized bodies?

I didn't find my mattress topper very supportive. It is a slightly thicker slightly softer regular-ish mattress pad.
