hello i like to know if this wifi adapter is a V1 tp link?

Not any more. This is a V3. There is a GitHub driver patch from aircrack-ng which gives monitor mode on the V2/3 chipset (rtl8188eus) but if you don't want to patch your sys, look elsewhere. (V1s only crop up second hand these days)

Will this work on my Eee PC netboo running windows 7 starter

Should work with successful installation of the Windows 7 32-bit Driver for TL-WN722N from the manufacturer's website but the user must corrrectly configure all of the settings for compatibility with the wireless network.

is this a version 1.0 The device I need to use it on will not work with version 2.0?

Current shipping version is 3.0 there is a driver patch on GitHub via aircrack-ng for this chipset (rtl8188eus) but if you are looking for our of the box monitor mode support and the atheros chipset you will need to look for a second hand v1 these days

Very good device

The signal for this device is brilliant, can connect to the Wi-Fi from distances never imaginable with other PCIe/M.2 devices.Technical Review:This device is the V2 meaning that it comes with the realtek RTL8188EUS chipset instead of the atheros chipset that natively supports monitor mode.After about 4 hours of searching around for solutions I found a custom driver by aircrack-ng on github which allowed this device to be used with monitor mode.

Great for old laptops and desktops

This is an excellent product for computers without built-in wifi cards. Just insert into a spare USB socket and you are online. The antenna will pull in a strong signal from your own wireless router as well as the neighbours.

recently bought a Onkyo 717 reciever ,and it has wifi capability but needed this adapter(didnt want to buy Onkyo's adapter way too pricey), now it works perfect ..thankyou
