This morning, although the skin is still damaged and dry, most of the redness has faded and the pain is minimal. Do they need to be used with gauze or other type dressings too? Do they stay put or do they move?** A: They should be loosely covered by a gauze bandage to keep them in place. They feel slimy rather than wet. They really do work to stem long term damage from burns. **Q: Some folk are saying a few hours, others are saying you can get a couple of days out of them, which is it?** A: I recommend they should be changed every day. **Q: From description & igredients...it looks like it's just a square sponge soaked with 10% alcohol solution?** A: The ingredients are very basic, and it is mostly water, but most importantly, it works. When you are in the pain that I was in after burning the whole of my palm and fingers on a saucepan, anything that gives immediate relief is truly amazing. My neighbour came running over to me with one of these after hearing that I needed help and that it was still very bad even after having my hand in cold water for half an hour. The foam rubber is so cushioning and comfortable once a bandage is holding it in position and the continuing relief from the burn was wonderful.
