What is the dimension of the taps

the taps,if you want the dimension to see if you can use them for kitchen sink then the hight will be fine,very nice taps good quality.

What size is the thread on these taps,are they a straight replacement for the old taps? (ie: the same size of thread)

No, they seem to be a different size. I just took them to local plumbers merchant and they supplied an adapter. Great taps for the price, really nice quality. The spray pattern is a bit odd but I'm on top of a hill with low Presure. I might try taking out the aerators and see if it improves it. Hope it helps.

The cold tap does not close properly on the turn-off...faulty??

It sounds faulty to me, these are ceramic disc taps, so dirt may have got into the discs,or the discs are faulty My advise ,if they are not under warranty, is just buy new ones, and replace, it will be more expensive to repair,unless you can do it yourself

How do you take the tap apart to access the cartridge

You need to screw off the top of the tap, the round top comes of. You can use a screw driver to prise it off.
