This is a good low cost way of installing a minimal level of security. Although the instructions say that it's not intended for outdoor use, I have a large cover over my front door that extends out 4 1/2 feet and the front porch light socket is high enough on the wall that it's completely protected from sun and weather. It has pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) capability, which is exceptional for a camera in this price range. It is easily controlled with the VicoHome app for IOS or Android. It connects to the wifi signal at 2.4ghz which is common for these kinds of devices. Once connected, your phone can be connected to the 5ghz signal from the router and it still works fine. I did have to install a range extender in my home for the camera to work properly, but it's something I've needed to do for awhile so I didn't mind that. Since it's designed for indoor use, I'm sure it would have been fine without the extender had I been using the camera indoors. All in all, a good entry level security camera that's easy to use and a great deal for just over $20. One thing that I have an issue with is that the camera is so sensitive to movement that a car driving past my house sets the motion detector off, and if it's windy the movement of my shrubs also sets it off. This caused me to have hundreds of recordings each day, and I had to turn the motion detection off. There is a sensitivity setting in the app, but I have it set to LOW and it's still too sensitive. Other reviewers have said they have the same problem, even using it indoors, and to delete the recordings you have to delete about 20 at a time. They should have a DELETE ALL option. There is one issue that I have not been able to resolve. There is a slot for an SD card that will give the camera more recording capability, but I have not been able to find a correct size card to fit in the slot. I have an SD card that goes in an mp3 player and I have an adapter for it, but the card itself is too small, and the adapter is too large for the slot. If anyone knows what card I need, I posted a question on Amazon that as of today hasn't been answered. Because of the SD card problem and the sensitivity issue, I can only give it 3 stars. I wish I could give it more, and I will update my review if I can figure out how to fix those problem.

I have been looking for a Security Camera for my garage as an area that didn't have my security system. Given kids can become careless closing the garage door, I wanted to have visibility to it. This Wireless Security Camera does the job but I wish it had a more wide angle view. Installation was a breeze as it can be easily installed using a normal E27 bulb base without any extra installation steps. The setup process is also very easy and can be completed within minutes. However, I didn't like the creation of an account and connecting to company's cloud system. The picture quality is good as it provides a Full HD 1080P resolution which gives clear and crisp images at any time of the day. The camera also has the Pan Tilt feature which allows you to control the camera viewing angle and achieve 360 viewing without any blind spots. This feature is really helpful for monitoring a large area. The motion detection feature is also very sensitive and it sends real-time alerts once it detects any movement. This ensures that I am always aware of any activity happening in my home, even when I am not there. Additionally, the two-way audio feature is really helpful as it allows me to have a conversation with my visitor from anywhere. However, I will likely not use it. Still it's a great feature at this price point. Overall, I am happy with this retrofit camera as its so easy to just plug and play.

I am a little weird about using this type of thing indoors when we are home, because you never quite know about security and if anybody might be listening or watching by hacking into it, not that I’m important enough for any of that, but still… Having said that, the setup is so quick and easy, that this is ideal for when you’re leaving town, so you can keep an eye on your house. It’s also great for businesses, and for basements that don’t get a lot of use but might be susceptible to break-ins, and for keeping an eye on pets if you’re gone for a day trip and want to check in.

Our dog likes to get tricky and sneak into other areas of the house where she knows she is not supposed to be. We've tried different deterents that enable to us to know when she's "crossed the line", but so far none of them have worked well because their large / wide angle that detects motion. We wanted a camera that we could place in such a way that the angle of detection is very limited to a specific doorway/opening. By simply plugging this into a lamp that sits on the table near the door she sneaks through, we are immediately alerted and can speak to her directly to "get back in here!" She was confused at first, but now she's getting the fact that the light is going to come on when she starts to sneak up to the front of the house, and she will be caught!

I would prefer a solar powered cam and it doesn't grab signal well. Always losing service, I gave up and quit using, laying a box somewhere.
