i purchased mine at the end of June 2015 but it has stopped heating up although power still there. Please advise what to do next

It sounds like the element has gone. I would return it as usually under warranty for a year if you still have the receipt.

Does this steam vertically ie from a hanging garment on a hanger

I use this iron to steam my suits on the hanger.

i have just bought this iron-and it makes a kind of buzzing/vibration noise - is this normal? I can tolerate it if it is but dont know if its faulty?

It does make a sort of buzzing / vibrating sound when the water runs out (It does need topping up a lot due to the amount of steam it produces) I always top mine up even though it’s half full still apart from that it doesn’t I have had mine now for 3 years with no fault, hope this helps x

How long is it guarantee for.

None of the documentation indicates the guarantee length, it simply states words to the effect of 'ask the vendor'. I registered this iron with Bosch UK online and it was still not stated explicitly. I then contacted them by email and they told me it is a 2 year guarantee. No option was given to extend the guarantee.
