The Reading Woman 2015 Calendar

This is a large wall calendar with lovely pictures of women from a bygone age reading. I love to read and the pictures remind me that lovely as the pictures are, the women represented in the pictures were probably well-to-do or rich since leisure time and having money to buy books was not much something poor women enjoyed. Nevertheless, I'll enjoy the calendar throughout the year.

Each year, I buy a calendar with the works of a particular artist, as my mood sways me. In this one, each month is a 19th century painting of a woman reading a book, by a different European artist. They are nice and at the bottom of each page, is a notable quote by some other famous person, such as the one (as I peek ahead) in August: "Fiction is like a spider's web, attached ever so lightly perhaps, but still attached to life at all four corners." - Virginia Woolf. They are entertaining and I will wait patiently for the rest.

I love the images in this calendar and the variety of art styles represented. Nice and big, easy to read . An ideal calendar for a reading woman.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to a good friend who is a reading woman. She loves it and plans to save it for the illustrations even after the year is over
