Test your soil first!
From their website, they suggest a soil water test. Basically, dig yourself the hole and fill it with water and see how long it takes to drain. Mine drains really quick, within 30 mins to an hour. If it drains that fast, then this system will not work for you, since it will dry out and the bacteria won't be able to do their thing. I'm going to swap this one out for their steel septic model since that one holds the water and the waste before flushing it into the soil.Overall it's a pretty good product. It does its job as being the lid and keeping the smell out of your backyard. Totally beats putting it into a bag and tying it up and hauling it to the trash bin. (I say hauling since one of my dogs is 190 lbs and creates mountains of waste). I much prefer putting the waste into a hole and never having to deal with it again.

Why didn’t I know about the sooner?
I’ve had Dogs for over 20 years and I just came across this product. WTF took me so long? It is life changing! No more scooping up dog poo and emptying in the garbage! I live in SW Florida, all sand. I bought a pvc pipe and set this up. I will probably have to add water more often, the sand sucked it up quickly. This was so easy to install and so far, so good!

your paying for a plasitc lid and bacteria tablets....
I have had this for over two months and everything is working great. There have been a few times I worry the tablets are not keeping up with the business, but so far so good. The plastic lid is holding up well. I live in California and it held really well with the historic rains we had recently. We will see how it holds up with the scorching summer that is probably coming up.

Works but flimsy
I dont feel like this will last very long. The side of the lid cracked as i was filling in the dirt around it. I also reinforced the hole with pvc i drilled holes in for stability and made a funnel out of one of my daughters bucket to make sure it went where i wanted the poo to go. Its okay if I were to make another i would look into septic tank covers and something a bit more sturdy.

The unit is 18 inches
Great product and very fast delivery. My only issue is my boyfriend who doesn't listen. The hole for the doggie dooly is supposed to be 8 inches by 4 feet. He made the hole 23 inches across. You definitely should dig with a post hole digger or something similar. My boyfriend didn't listen to me and used a regular shovel

Best thing we've ever bought!
Although the hubby wasn't happy about having to dig a 4' deep hole, it was still quite an easy thing to make functional. You have to dump 5 gallons of water inside the hole 2-3 times a week, along with 2 tablets once a week, but it still beats having to smell 💩 baking in the sun during summer whilst trying to enjoy my spa or bbq.I highly recommend this product!

Is this REALLY what you want?
I’ve had this thing up and running for a little less than 3 weeks, and overall I’m happy with its performance so far. It seems to be working as promised, if not better. The instructions clearly say that each unit is for 2 big dogs, or 4 small dogs. We have 2 large dogs and 1 small dog, and so far I haven’t noticed any problems. I do add extra enzymes to help accelerate the waste breaking down. I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend digging a hole less than the 4ft outlined in the instructions. Six feet would be better. I ended up spending $150 on a hand auger to dig the hole, so that might be a consideration if you’re contemplating trying this out. You do not want to skimp on the hole or it will fill up before the enzymes do their thing. We’ve had several 100+ degree days already this summer, and the only time I have smelled anything is when I’m standing over it with the lid open to add water or dog waste. Even then, I’ve suffered through outhouses that smell worse than this. It does require adding several gallons of water every few days. I’ve been using hot water because I feel like it helps activate the enzymes. For anyone considering buying one, the main question you need to ask yourself is, “Do I REALLY want a 4 ft hole filled with dog waste in my back yard?” It may sound like a silly question, but ultimately that’s what this is.

Brilliant!
I was skeptical, but this turned out to be the perfect solution to poop bags filled with stink waiting for the garbage collector. We live in FL. A day in the garbage with 90 degree weather and we had a stinky mess! YES, you need a post hole digger. YES, there is no smell. We have a sandy backyard so the water doesn’t stay in the hole very long, but no problem. We put a couple gallons of water in the hole about once a week and throw in an enzyme tablet. We have a small dog and have had this about 6 months. The hole has filled in a couple of feet (mostly from the sand caving in from the sides when spraying a hose), but the top is still secure. We’ll get years out of this hole.We have this in our side yard, in the shade and a lawn more doesn’t go over it, so it hasn’t faded or become brittle or cut up.All is good. I’m ordering another for my son’s backyard and his 2 large dogs. I don’t like picking up poop and bagging it when I dog sit, but I WILL drop it into this collection device!

It’s greener in every way
The product itself is just some plastic but it works. There was a lot of effort digging the hole! We had to get a post digger from a friend to do it it took a good half day to fit but it is worth it, it’s handy for me to use with the long handed shovel and rake and it doesn’t smell. You need to be the tablets or powder to put down once a week and keep up the water

I tend to overdue things a bit..
So to deal with dog waste I decided to go down about 9 feet and install a 12" perforated pipe to keep the soil from caving in. The Dooley provides a nice lid and enclosure for the surface. I am hoping to be able to put waste in it year round as it is so deep. I brought in a bobcat to make the hole. So yeah I tend to over due things a bit.

Not worth the money!
Very flimsy product. Not worth the money at all. Enquired about returning but was told I would have to send it back to America! Very unhappy!

Works well
Have had this for about a year, works fine. Recommend buying a post hole digger to make sure you can dig a nice deep pit. Plastic lid is a little flimsy.

Plastic bottomless box
The amount I paid for this is unbelievable when all it is is a plastic box without a base. It didn't even come ready assembled and I had to screw together.I bought it several weeks ago for my daughter's garden and we are still trying to dig the deep hole.
