Great!
I was skeptical, but wow the ceramic blades really do cut foam very easily!

Year and a half review
Ok so, I was using this to cut cardboard into long strips so that I could then, tear the strips into smaller pieces. Basically, to break down boxes. For me at least, this worked WAY longer than stainless steel long blades. Because they dull VERY quickly when cutting cardboard. The two blades that came with this knife, however, lasted me for a long time without breaking. And now, after attempting to get replacement ceramic blades for this knife, I have discovered that THESE two ceramic blades really are some top notch blades. I had gotten a ten pack of ceramic blades that were made by "Cool Hand," or something like that. And where just ONE of the ceramic blades that came with this knife would last me a week or two, the Cool Hand ceramic blades wouldn't last a day. I'm not kidding! I couldn't even cut one strip off of a piece of cardboard without their blade snapping in two. Bottom line though, is that while I can't find anything that comes close to being as good as Steelite's ceramic blades, the only way to get replacement blades from Steelite is to get another whole knife like this that comes with two blades. Not cool Steelite... Where's your replacement 18mm ceramic blades, huh?? Now, if Steelite sold replacement blades then I would highly recommend this knife. But since they don't. At least, not anywhere that I can find (at the time of this review). Then I don't recommend this long knife and it's ceramic blades... If you are someone who REALLY wants or needs a knife like this with ceramic blades though, then I guess I'd recommend looking at what "Slice" has. They DO have a long blade like this, but all I could find on Amazon was a six pack of them that costed over a hundred dollars. Just look for "Slice Manual Industrial Knife" and you should be able to see what I mean. It's available on their site though, for $25. There's also an "Auto-Retractable Industrial Knife", and I believe that one IS available on Amazon. And yeah, they are quite a bit pricier than this knife when you consider that they only come with one blade. That, and I believe that their replacement blades are like $40 for four blades. But from what I understand, they are supposed to produce some high quality ceramic knives. Ah well... I hope that was helpful. If you are someone who is reading this right now, thanks for reading my review. And if it was not helpful to you, I am sorry that I wasted your time.

I just don't know
It's just like any other knife that looks similar but I thought I'd give it a go due to the ceramic difference. As stated, it does seems a little safer to your skin but it's still cuts as good as a super-share, fresh blade. My main concern is the blade is segmented with pre-scored sections that can be broken off as the end portion of the blade becomes duller. It's one long blade that is made to look like blades that are made to be snapped off a little by little in order to keep the blade sharp and useful. But this one is not that way. I simply haven't used it enough to truly know but I suspect as the end that is being used all the time expectantly dulls, the entire blade will have to be tossed and replace with the one and only replacement blade that it comes with. That will leave you throwing away about a 3 inch blade because the tip doesn't perform well anymore. Don't expect a segmented, pre-scored blade that can be snapped off and refreshed just because it looks like those types of knives that can be. This one is not like that.

Excellent light duty box cutter and utility knife
First, let me get my one real negative out of the way, and it's not so much a flaw as something to keep in mind. The tool comes with two blades, replacing them with aftermarket ones negates most of the advantages, so when they are dull, it's time for a new one. My other minor complaint is that it would be nice to have some texture or other grip assist on the handle. It's pretty smooth. The good? The handle is decently made, not high end, but plenty tough for the task. The slide mechanism is good and locks nicely at each position. I never had it open unintentionally or slip on me. The GREAT!!!! The blade, while not the sharpest I've encountered, is plenty sharp for the job and has a quality I've never run into before. It doesn't collect tape residue nearly as much as every other knife I've used. That means that it effectively stays sharper during use. For a home or small shop user who doesn't need to replace blades multiple times a week or even day, it's great. I've used it quite a bit and it's still very sharp, so at the least their claim of staying sharp longer than traditional blades is true. I can't speak for 10X yet, but I'm definitely a fan. I use a razor blade constantly at work and used this for a few days now and it's effectively like new, unlike the usual situation where I replace the blade in a utility knife every day or two in frustration. I routinely push the tip down through a bag onto a metal top counter and then drag the bag across to open it, thus the damaged tip. That's my fault and happens to every pointy utility knife I use for that job.
