Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 Wireless Earbuds, Premium Listening Experience with Bluetooth Wireless, Noise-Cancellation, High-Resolution Drivers with Innovative Acoustic Technology

Tried the Bose QC Earbuds 2, the Sony WF1000-XM5 and this. Sony had good audio quality, however the ANC never worked because the earbuds could never get a proper seal. The Bose has the absolute best ANC, but sound a bit muddled. This is a mix of both, great anc and noise canceling ( connectivity is a bit awkward, but it’s ok! )

It had finally become time to replace my trusted Sony 1000XM3’s due to the bulky size and ear tips that no longer stayed secured due to lots of use. In scouring several YouTube reviews for a replacement, I decided to give these Audio Technicas a try. First impressions, appealing design with attractive colors and slightly bulking but cool looking case. Pairing with iPhone went well enough and the app is well designed with lots of features and customization. Sound quality.. Wow. These blow my previous Sonys out of the water with so much more clarity and range. I could hear intricacies in my favorite tracks I hadn’t been able to hear before. Really recommend these for good sound. Now for the drawbacks.. I wore these for a walk around the neighborhood in the fall. I noticed with the ANC on, I could still hear the leaves crunching under my feet. I tried to “re-optimize” the ANC via the app. Still hearing the leaves, still hearing the cars zoom by. On my next trial run, I swapped out the ear tips with a couple of the other (many) options provided. These were quite difficult to swap out and required a lot of force. Unfortunately it didn’t make much difference with the ANC performance and couldn’t touch that of my Sony XM3s. The final factor for me was when I received my first call while on a walk. The other caller couldn’t hear me and call quality sounded robotic and glitchy. I almost thought it was a service issue until I switched from the earbuds to my phone audio, and call quality was great. This was disappointing after reading so much about clear call performance. Final thoughts - I would strongly recommend these for audio quality alone. As far as ANC and call quality, my experience wasn’t great. The Bluetooth connection would also drop out for a second or two with my phone in my pocket. Not too annoying but not for me at this price point. I’m looking forward to trying the Technics AZ80s next to see if it’s a better fit.

Pros: Beautiful design, great fit, many features, good connectivity, and more importantly... SUPERIOR sound quality. Cons: Battery life can be better for the premium price.

Overall I love these earbuds but they have a huge problem. The left earbud doesn't want to charge. I have to baby it and make sure it seats properly every time to make sure I can listen to my music. Garbage tier quality control.

My only issues I've had since buying these is that they never charge properly, I'm not sure if they just don't seat on the charge prongs but at this point I've put them in every which way. I've left to charge a couple of hours only to find left or right 80% while the other only just at 5%. Every other function works and sounds great.

Love the amount of options for earbud tips. Easy to use good app for equalizer. You might be wondering why I only gave it 3 stars They do sound amazing. Fit comfortably in the ear probably best I've used so far by comfort which mean a lot to me. I've had these just about a weeks and a half now. I listen to music and other things a lot when at work which are 12hr shifts(no i dont use them all 12hrs). Downfall of them is the small battery but I looked past that which didn't really bother me at all. The Bluetooth signal isn't the best which does bug me for the price tag on them. I have had the SonyWF-1000XM4 before these which hurt my ears are long use sessions. Bluetooth signal was far superior on the Sony's for distance. But what has ruined it for me within the short spam of having them the left earbud volume has gotten much lower then the right one with the treble taking a hit as well. Thought it was my hearing at 1st but then I used other headphones make sure. I've tried to reel them to see if that would solve the issue but it hasn't fixed it.

These are great earbuds and were a very close second to pi8 for me it came down to comfort and pi8 won these sound excellent tho and if u like stem style could be the ones

I been using for a couple of months. Headphones are permanently connected to PC and phone. I have never had problems with the connection, like the people in the reviews here. Apparently something in the new firmware was corrected. The sound is great. In the neighboring rooms, the signal beats without problems. The microphones are average in my opinion.

Der für mich ideale Kopfhörer ist der Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7. Leider gibt es keine Variante mit Noise Cancelling, weshalb er auf Dauer für unterwegs nicht ideal ist. Am nächsten an das Klangideal kam der Beoplay HX. Als Overear aber auch nicht für jede Gelegenheit geeignet, weshalb ich nun wieder nach etwas mit dem Klang des MSR7 und Noise Cancelling suchte - nur noch mobiler. Die TWX9 sind wirklich leicht und komfortabel und kommen mit einer riesigen Auswahl an Aufsätzen. Trotzdem ist der Basisdurchmesser relativ groß und auch wenn sie im Vergleich gut sind haben sie nichts daran geändert, dass ich In-Ears unbequem finde. Matt beschichtete Flächen (insbesondere das Case ist fast komplett mit einer Pfirsichhaut versehen) leuchten mir nicht ein, sie sind immer wesentlich empfindlicher und weniger langlebig als konventionelle Oberflächen. Ansonsten gibt es nichts an der Verarbeitungsqualität auszusetzen. Sehr positiv fällt die Begleitapp auf. Die Knöpfe selber mit Funktionen belegen? Super, warum macht das sonst niemand? Viele Presets für Noise Cancelling, ein einstellbarer EQ, Firmware Updates bequem mit einem Klick - hier wurde wirklich an alles gedacht. Der Klang der TWX9 ist wirklich sehr gut - aber das Wort "audiophil" aus anderen Rezensionen würde ich nicht benutzen. Die Abstimmung hat nichts mit der Neutralität der AKG K702 zu tun, die ich die meiste Zeit höre. Auch die MSR7 aus dem Hause Audio-Technica spielen deutlich neutraler. Die TWX9 klingen mit gut gemastertem Rock und Pop perfekt, insbesondere Songs die viel auf akustische Instrumente setzen. Der Bass trägt nicht zu dick auf, Stimmen haben viel Präsenz und alles ist sehr schön durchsichtig und klar. Der Stereoeffekt ("Bühne") ist ebenfalls gut ausgeprägt. Leider höre ich fast nur Klassik bzw. Instrumentalmusik die wenig nachbearbeitet wird. Hier offenbart der TWX9 leider deutliche Defizite im Vergleich zu den "audiophilen" Kopfhörern von Audio Technica. Die leichte Badewanne im Frequenzgang (Anhebung tiefer Bässe und hoher Höhen) ist zwar nicht extrem, aber deutlich wahrnehmbar. Gut, das ließe sich mit dem eingebauten EQ leicht ausgleichen. Was sich aber nicht ausgleichen lässt, ist die unterschiedliche Performance je nach Pegel. Merkwürdigerweise passt der Klang, sobald ein ordentlicher Pegel erreicht wird und sich viele Frequenzen überlagern. In leisen Stellen mit wenig Klängen ist die Überbetonung des Basses aber viel ausgeprägter, als ob die Membran die hohen Frequenzen und lauten Mitten braucht um beim Bass eingebremst zu werden. Vielleicht ist es auch nur ein psychoakustischer Effekt - jedenfalls klingt Klassik bzw. Filmmusik nur an lauten Stellen halbwegs natürlich, während die leisen unter der schlechten Balance leiden. Wie schon andere Rezensenten schrieben, ist das Noise Cancelling keine Offenbarung. Wer wirklich Stille erwartet, wird enttäuscht werden. Allerdings reicht es vollkommen um auch in der Bahn oder auf der Straße genug Dämpfung zu bekommen, um auch in leiser Musik alles mitzubekommen. Ich würde es als "zweckmäßig" beschreiben. ANC soll die Musik besser hörbar machen und mich nicht in einen Reizdeprivationstank werfen. Auffällig ist, dass Körperschall sehr schlecht gedämpft wird. Niederfrequente Schwingungen die auch über den Körper ans Ohr gelangen und durch Reibung an den Ohrhörern erzeugte Geräusche werden kaum gefiltert. Die, die rein von außen ans Ohr gelangen jedoch sehr gut und über das gesamte Spektrum. Sind sie die 290 € wert? Definitiv. Im Vergleich mit dem Wettbewerb ist der Klang immer noch der klarste, präziseste den man in der Preisklasse bekommen kann. Das Noise Cancelling ist woanders besser, aber hier immer noch mehr als ausreichend für den Zweck, unterwegs Musik zu hören. Sind sie dick auftragende Bassschleudern für Metalheads wie die M50x? Nein, viel diffiziler und bassärmer. Sind sie ein Preis-Leistungs-Kracher wie der ATH-MSR7 mit herausragender Neutralität und Auflösung? Nein, die Wahrheit liegt tatsächlich ziemlich genau in der Mitte.

These are probably the best-sounding True Wireless earbuds I've listened to. Better than the Sony WF-1000XM4 and the Sennheiser Momentum TW3 when it comes to sound quality. Lows are punchy but not overpowering, mids are vibrant and clear, and the highs are crisp. Soundstage is also exceptional for a dynamic driver. Especially if you're streaming from a platform that supports 360 Reality Audio. These can actually rival higher grade wired IEMs. ANC isn't as good as on the Sony but it does the job. I also love the design on these. However the quality control on these is terrible. I don't know if I had faulty units or if it's a software issue but half of the time, both touch and physical buttons wouldn't respond and would have to be reset. Which is such a shame because it actually ruins the whole user experience. I had to return mine for now. But I'll be willing to give it another shot if Audio Technica fixes the control issue because that's how good they sound! Follow-up : AT fixed the software issues! They are the best TW earbuds out there!

Les Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 ont une présentation Premium et des fonctionnalités très complètes. les écouteurs fournissent un excellent Son. Le Son est naturel et engageant avec une grande clarté Vocale. Les Basses sont profondes. Les Aigus sont colorés. La prise en charge du 360 Realty Audio est intéressante. L'annulation du bruit est performante. Le port des écouteurs est confortable. Pour les regrets, on peut noter une autonomie assez moyenne de 6 heures environ pour des écouteurs qui se veulent haut-de-gamme.
