Why does it have oats as an ingredient if it is grain free?

Hi, there are no oats in the Barking Heads Pooched Salmon Grain-Free recipe. The main ingredients in the recipe are Salmon, Sweet Potato, Peas, Potato and herbs. Hope that helps.

Is this authentic Barking Heads dog food? It’s totally different in size, shape & colour from a batch previously bought from a well known supermarket!

When do you change from puppy food to adult

Depends on the breed of dog, size etc. Our Cockerpoo went onto adult food at about 12 months, but he could have gone on a few months earlier. If in doubt contact Barking Heads, they are very helpful.

What age should we move from puppy to adult? Thanks

Normally, it depends on the breed/size. I have mini dachshund, so he went 'big food' well after 1 year (not younger) and it's not a problem if you continue feeding puppy food later than this - he's been in perfect health for 6 years now so touch wood... Large breeds need extra time to mature fully (anywhere from 18 months to 2 years for the biggest). If you're concerned, ask your vet.
