A Piece of Junk!!!
I have been working for the past two hours trying to get this !$!#$^#^&%** typewriter to type. The keys hit the paper but there is a blank page that remains. The "Owner's Manual" does not give any suggestions as to follow up actions that can be taken in the event it doesn't type. So, I am at a loss. Returning it is not an option as I am elderly and no longer drive. Being stuck with a typewriter that is a joke is very upsetting. What is even worse is I doubt I will ever hear from anyone in regard to what I might do to get it to actually type. I suspect if I do hear it from someone it will be to suggest I return it, but as I have said that is not an option for me. Therefore, the purpose of this review is merely to let off a little...or maybe a lot...of steam!!!

Disappointing Quality with Non-Functioning Keys
I purchased this typewriter for my son with high expectations, but unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. Several keys did not function at all due to what appeared to be missing or disconnected components. This made the typewriter essentially unusable for regular writing. While the plate cover looked nice from a distance, closer inspection revealed noticeable scratches and plastic fraying around those areas. The cover is made from very thin plastic, which feels low quality and does not hold up well to closer examination. The keys also did not operate smoothly, and the overall mechanism felt stiff and unreliable. This product does not seem suitable for anyone who types with speed or expects consistent performance. I cannot confirm, but I had the impression that the item may have been previously returned, based on its condition. Overall, I would not recommend this purchase.

Great typewriter
So I'm not sure if this is 100% brand new because I could clearly see some left over ink on the letters but regardless it works great! I was hesitant to buy it because of the reviews but I'm thinking maybe people just don't know what they're doing. I used my grandmother's typewriter when I was a little girl and loved playing on it. I'm a creative writing major and I want to use a type writer for my first drafts, to help with less distractions, and for when computer screens give me headaches. I followed all the setup directions and started typing and it worked great! It's cheaper than other brands I've seen. I highly suggest you take a chance on it and get it. I bought the 3 year protection plan as well just in case. It comes packaged very well!

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! and was NOT NEW OUT OF THE BOX
I purchased this typewriter to do some secret Santa notes next year. Most everyone I know, can tell my horrible handwriting,. So I thought for 199.00 that this would be perfect for writing to people I work with in secret . As you can see in the pictures. Even though it may not seem that I can type or spell. I can assure you that most of the spacing in the center of the words I tried to type were NOT DONE ON PURPOSE BY HITTING THE SPACE BAR. The Q key doesn't work because it's not even hooked up. And can you see all the ribbon smudges everywhere? Yeah,. What a piece of garbage. When I first took it out of the box I noticed that ribbon had once been in the typewriter from the red ink on the Stryker plate and ribbon holder. SO IT HAD BEEN SOLD TO ME USED WHILE I WAS CHARGED NEW PRICE!. VERY DISCUSTED . THE PAPER ROLLER SLIDES THE PAPER ON THE LEFT MARGIN WHEN YOU RETURN TO START ANOTHER LINE. SO THEN YOU HAVE TO PULL THE LEFT SIDE TAUGHT BEFORE YOU CAN TYPE OR YOUR LINES WILL BE CROOKED. AT THE BEGINNING 9F TYPING A LINE, THE RIBBON ALWAYS BUNCHES UP 8N 5HE STRYKER PLATE, LEAVING SMUDGES. THE RIGHT SIDE ROLLER ADJUSTMENT TO MANUALLY ROLE THE PAPER THEOUGH THE TYPEWRITER JUST SLIPS AND WON'T TURN THE ROLLER. HOW PEOPLE CAN GET AWAY WITH SELLING JUNK LIKE THIS IS BEYOND ME. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTISTS AND THIEVES. If I could give NO STARS, I WOULD HAVE!

Ups and Downs
My mom bought me this typewriter for my birthday. This typewriter is beautiful and works quite well, with a few malfunctions here and there but nothing not easily fixable. Only problem I have with it is that it’s advertised as a quiet typewriter. This typewriter is so loud, it shook my desk and my father could hear it from downstairs and thought i was kicking the floor. This typewriter is heavy, but not hard to move. It’s pretty big, taking up most of my desk. It’s very useful and I’ve written lots of poems and other things with it. I will say it is quite expensive, but definitely worth the price. I use this product all the time.

Not Usable - Keys Misaligned
This typewriter was completely unusable and of poor quality assurance. The keys were misaligned (some letters typed higher/lower than the letters next to them). Some letters were so faint on the paper you could barely see them (even when I backspaced and typed over them). Because I needed a typewriter right away, I took my chances (despite the reviews) and ordered this one. The typing it produced was so inferior, it could not be used.

Not all it’s chalked up to be.
Where shall I start! First, it’s impossible to feed the paper all the way through with the rollers-I have to manipulate it through by hand. Second, the spacing between letters is OFF! And third, it’s very hard to push down on the keys enough for them to make an imprint on the paper! I’m only keeping it because I like how it looks and my grandson likes to practice on it. Oh, and my husband threw away the box! I will be looking for another one, but this time I will try before I buy! Not worth the money!

Didn’t work for us
The typewriter was a gift and my son was so excited. Unfortunately, didn’t function as expected. For example: CAPS lock goes on but doesn’t hit the paper for upper case letters. Lower case letters barely make contact with the paper. Missing the bottom plate that goes under the typewriter. The ribbon colour function didn’t work and overall looked like the keys weren’t built to match up with the frame of the typewriter. Sent back for a refund.
