Finally a solution that works incredibly well.
(A review having experienced other products) I have a multi fuel stove in which I burn wood and coal, (not at the same time) I like to keep the glass clean so I have to clean it every day, and it has always been one of the worst chores to maintain my stove. First I tried HG stove glass cleaning spray, which works like an oven cleaner. You spray the foam onto the glass leave for 5 mins then clean off with a cloth. It works fairly well removing light to medium blackening on the glass, but trust me on heavy patches your going to need some elbow grease, but it does work. However, the main problem was it's a foam spray and it goes everywhere on the door and rope, the spray splatters and marks the stove, and the foam will drip down onto the hearth. So I decided to try a paste cleaner to avoid the issues of using a spray. I bought Dirtbusters stove glass cleaning paste. Although I didn't get the issues that I got from using a spray it still takes a lot of effort and didn't work as well as the spray. I finally decided to try these little sponge/steel wool pads. They arrived this morning and I decided to give them a go straight away. The results were amazing! A job that used to take 5-10 minutes and a lot of effort took just 60 seconds with little to no effort at all. They are basically a sponge with 0000 steel wool on one side. The wool does an excellent job at easily removing even the most stubborn stains. It only requires the lightest of pressure. I was concerned they might scratch the glass so I used the lightest of touch which basically polished off the marks. The sponge side will clear the dust/residue left behind after polishing with the wool. Trust me, don't bother with any of the chemical cleaners these are more effective. And depending how long these last I might just buy some 0000 grade steel wool. .

Definitely Works!
I thought these would be a gimmick, but were so cheap I thought I'd try them. I burn wood and house coal on an Esse stove and I'd been using window cleaner sprays and cleaning gel etc, but these pads are superb and way quicker, cleaner and easier to use. These definitely work and are well well worth getting - I will use these forever now, and never go back to sprays and gels ever again.

Works with effort
I have used both pads and my window is still not fully clear yet. It’s required quite a lot of scrubbing and effort so far. The one window I’ve done looks brand new and clean. It’s probably been 6 months ish since it was last done. Good pads, will buy again, just needs more arm work than I was expecting.

Magic! Fast Magic.
With this little scotch-brite style pad, I leave behind anguish and failure :D Jokes aside, I like my house clean, but live by the motto "Prevention is my friend" and my aim in life is to NOT clean, well at least as seldom as possible. People don't belive me, and this product is one that helps in maintaining that illusion (that I clean often). It took literally all of 30 seconds to get of all the soot (and you use it dry as is, that's part of the beauty). Next time I will wear gloves though, as hands and nails get really dirty (yes, obviously), and it hurts like heck when one of the little steely hairs get under your nails, I also put down an old newspaper under the area to be cleaned as some specks of soot fell down. Previously it has been messy and taken numerous attempts with all sorts, to get it just almost clean (read spotty and streaky). Wish I'd had this even sooner. Update: To illustrate just how good a job it does, when I told a dinner guest about this product she had to step up close to the glass (fire roaring), to ensure there actually was a glass cover! Now that is high marks. Because you cannot see the glass it looks like the fire leaps out at you, a little scary actually, but beautiful. 8 months later: I keep this little beauty in a tied up plastic bag under the zink, for easy access and so that it won't dirty everything else (soot will dislodge, get everywhere, and stay there). Have not had to use the second pad as of yet, in fact not even close it seems. One of the stellar things with this product is that where as before I would procrastinate no end until I would drag myself to clean the glass to the fireplace, now when it's a breeze to do, and resistance gone (from me, my partner couldn't give a toss nor identify what exactly he doesn't like about a dirty fireplace glass), it actually stays clean for much longer! Noticeably so. It can't be due to us altering the way we use the fireplace, all but the pad is exactly the same. My guess is that since there is no dirt for new dirt to stick to, the buildup of dirt has to start from zero everytime, resulting in our glass staying cleaner for longer than when we used stuff that didn't get rid of all the dirt. Like sticky tape if you will, now, no sticky tape.

These sponge like cleaning pads arrived very quickly - full marks for that. I used then immediately to clean off a very tar laden and sooty window on my wood stove (why does it get so bad...I use very dry wood and follow all the "rules"). The pads worked well when used in combination with spray-on sugar soap. With a small effort, the glass was cleaned. These pads are sponge on one side and rough on the other - perhaps a nylon or similar material. Essentially, they are the same as a kitchen scourer pad. I can't see the difference. Perhaps the seller could elaborate? So - all marks for effectively working but only three stars as I think I could have used cheap kitchen scouring pads just as well.

Mit etwas Wasser auf dem Schwamm wird Scheibe perfekt sauber!!! Besser, einfacher und schneller geht's nicht!! Trocken angewandt ist der Schwamm komplett unbrauchbar.
