Just like a leatherman!
I do not often write reviews unless I am really impressed with a product. This multi tool is impressive. I search for a leatherman replacement without the higher cost for a reason. I do own many leathermans, including a surge and love them all. So why do I look for a knock off? I have always been in the maintenence field and multi tool is great to have. My wife gave me my first leaherman surge for christmas, unfortunately when using the bathroom it unclipped from my pants, by the time I realized and went back it was gone. I did get another surge and I got the latest free P4 for christmas, which I also love. I left that on top of a toilet paper holder, sent out an email and got lucky it was returned...I then decided no more expensive multi tools for every day carry. I have tried several "Good for the price" multi tools, but often they are not as good as the real thing. Jump ahead to Rocktol purchase....Wow the knives are so sharp...I literally shaved my arm with the straight blade. The wood saw appears to be victorinox quality. Very solid feeling pliers. Scissors a bit small but very functional. Nice file with one side diamond coated. I like the bit holder that you can flip around versus the integral made Phillips. Everyones wish list is different, but for me I like the can/bottle opener in a bind as well as the scraper and mimi evglass driver I use when removing wires from push in outlets. The sheath is also heavy duty and very nicely made. I truly cant see much of a quality difference and if I lose it on a job I won't cry! Thank you Rocktol for building a quality tool at a very reasonable price!!

Saved $100. Works for me
Research proved to me that I didn't necessarily have to get a Leatherman Wave if another brand worked, at a more affordable price. This Rocktol is almost $100 less and has almost the same identical functions. Granted the steel has lesser characteristics but any negative user comments are probably related to applying too much torque. Leatherman user reviews also have negative comments such as breaking, stiff movements, binding, etc. For a $100 less, if the Rocktol fails I could buy 3 more. It becomes a personal choice depending on your intended use and budget constraint. It, even like Leatherman, is probably not intended for heavy demanding work. I'm more than satisfied with the Rocktol. It's well made, sharp blades, finish, ease of operation and with all the functions I need as long as I treat it with care and respect of any tool. It's a personal choice, big name or big savings. Research, review and compare.

First throughs review.
The tool on first usage feels absolutely solid. The action is tight, but with some play gets the gears in motion and functions as you’d want it to. This thing is rock solid and is highly recommend it, the locks work perfectly. The outer four tools are great for quick access. My only gripe is not worth taking a star from since it’s just a personal thing. I would much rather have a full sized pair of scissors than a saw. I’d highly recommend this tool for anyone looking to get a loved one on multitool to try, but don’t want to drop Leatherman prices. Someone who needs a dependable tool for a vehicle fishing kit or hunting bag or someone who just wants a solid built tool

A solid general use multi tool.
I bought this to replace a lost Leatherman. The price was very good. So far I've found it to be a pretty good replacement in both feel and quality. This is the tool I wear daily, and I think it's a pretty good replacement. It weighs a little more than the tool it replaced there are only two things I would change to make this tool just about perfect. I would really like replaceable cutters and it really should come with a pocket clip. I did buy a clip directly from Rocktol and it worked fine. I would definitely buy this tool again.

Impressive budget substitute for my lost Leatherman Wave!
I bought this after using a SOG multitool as a cheap replacement for a Leatherman Wave I lost a few years back, while the SOG was a decent substitute, had plenty of features, it never felt as sturdy as the leatherman. I came across this and noticed ti had a very similar form factor to the Wave and good reviews, so I figured I'd give it a chance. Glad I did, so far it checks all the boxes, it's sturdy, has most of the features I was looking for (blades are sharp and keep a good edge, locking mechanisms work without fail, can use standard 1/4" bits) and at less than half the cost of the Wave! I have been using multitools for probably 20+ years and have tried many good one's and some that weren't even worth returning and ended up in the bin, this one definitely falls in the high end of my favourite multitools. There are a couple cons, I do miss the double ended precision screwdriver the wave had & wish it had a pocket clip (which the wave only had a lanyard loop). *I just found out that Rocktol actually sells a pocket clip compatible with 3 of their knives on their website* So, if you're on the fence about trying this as a budget substitute (I won't call this cheap, as that implies poor quality, which this is far from!), don't, give it a chance and you'll be pleasently surprised.

Great for the price!
I bought this simply because it seemed affordable and I needed a new multi tool. I expected it to feel cheap and to break it quick with out much I use them but I was pleasantly surprised! It feels very sturder and durable. Fits well in the pocket or in my leather belt sheath. I love that all the blades and file have tabl locks and all other tools also make use of an easy locking system! I've used the file on it far more than I expected and the blade came very sharp and has kept its edge far better than I expected. I honestly would buy another if I were to ever lose it for some reason. It lacks some feature the more expensive tools have like changeable wire cutters but for me that is a negligible downside. Great tool!

Sturdy and safe
I replaced an old multitool I have been packing around for years with this tool and am overjoyed at what I got. Things I like that my old tool didn’t have; 1. Each tool locks in place to be used. No more suddenly folding up on me while being used. 2. Blades and other tools are made with a stronger metal and hold their edge much better. 3. More tools especially a real saw blade, a small but workable pair of scissors, a serrated knife as well as a regular one, a real file, a two sided screwdriver bit that I just flip over and a very small blade that allows me to tighten the screws on my glasses. This multitool also has a case that slips on my belt making it easier to grab and keeping it from rubbing against my cell phone while riding around in my pocket. Not the most expensive tool by a long shot but, so far, it seems outstanding.

Good tool
I have used more expensive, name brand tools like this for many years and I am pleased with this. Extremely comparable to the name brand it resembles. Only complaint is that the screw driver bit and holder are poorly matched. Both of the ones I have used, the bit falls out and get lost in a short amount of time.

Excellent quality for price wuth better quality control than leathermans
For budget its great. The wire cutters for example are actually way better than replaceable ones. Its excellent value

Its very heavy!
The tools open smoothly and the locks all work properly. However, it is too heavy in my opinion for even a belt carry. Best put it in a tool kit at home, or in the car, for when required. Not for carrying around long distances, e.g. hiking (for that invest in a reasonable weighing SAK or Leatherman).

Good value
Great option if leatherman wave+ is out of your price range

Poor quality steel, still a good buy though
I’m happy with it, but there have been some issues. The steel is brittle, it chips quite easily. I’ve had mine a few months with very light use, the knife blade was chipping off after the first few uses. it’s serving its purpose well though, it’s a cheap multi tool to have around that i won’t be too upset about losing or breaking I’ll buy it again once this one breaks enough to toss it
