Absolutely LOVE this product! Been searching for a non-toxic, plant-based, long-lasting stain forever, and thrilled to have found this one.Does it have a very strong sweet wine smell? Yes, but it dissipates in a couple days. I wore a heavy duty mask while applying, which helped a lot. It’s also very pricey, which keeps me from buying enough to do my fence, but for a smallish project like a raised bed, it’s worth it.Looks great on untreated wood, goes on so smoothly (just be sure there is zero dirt anywhere!), and dries to perfection. Rain beads off it after it dries. Very impressed.

I use this for anything wood outdoors in my yard. Yes garden boxes, but also my cedar deck, my address sign. Anything I want to remain beautiful even through harsh Canadian winters. I live in a freeze-and thaw climate where it can get as cold as -40C (which is the same F) but then the chinook winds blow in from the mountains and it will go above zero. Garden Box Armor protects even in these conditions. Furthermore, it is food safe and non-toxic, and much easier to work with than stain. You do not need to keep a wet edge. It seals in the beauty of the wood itself. And, weirdly, it smells like Jolly Ranchers for some reason? I couldn't put my finger on the smell but my 6 year old figured it out. Jolly Ranchers. It is expensive, yes. But it has lasted far longer than stain polyurethane sealants would so I prefer to think of it as having a high up-front cost, because you definitely save money in the long run. The odor is slightly fruity and not at all offensive. I applied the sealer to eucalyptus wood porch chairs and tables. The sealer went on like water-a little goes a long way. Per the instructions, I wiped after 5 minutes and allowed it to dry for a little over an hour. The wood looks brand new, which is saying something since it is about 20 years old. Cleanup was a breeze with soap and water. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone looking to seal wood. The fact that it's plant based and eco-friendly is an added bonus. Back on the covered, screened porch it went. Blown-in rain is no longer a concern.
