These are tough swtiches to beat out of the box for quality. It is not necessary to hand lube them as they work very well straight out of the box. They are very heavy (which is something I prefer). Sound is relatively muted though it is not a silent switch by any means. Overall, they "bother" people around you less but they do feel great. My only qualm is that there are several swtiches at lower price points that have strong advantages that may not feel quite as premium as this but their lower cost makes them easier to justify using than these. That being said, if I wanted something to feel very premium and I wanted a heavy linear switch, these would be my choice.

Installed these on my Lofree BLOCK 98 and instantly improved the sound and typing feel! I love these switches and thanks to them I now have a VERY expensive hobby.

I put these Oil Kings in a Keychron K4 Pro with a steel plate, replacing the much lighter red linears. My first impression was actually that they were almost too quiet. The original gateron reds were clackier, while the Oil Kings have a much more muted, deep "thud" or "knock." After a day or two, though, this sound and feel has really started growing on me. The bigger surprise was the feel. They’re noticeably firmer, obviously, than the light reds, and I’m making fewer accidental key presses and typos. No stem wobble at all! They’re very smooth out of the box, feel extremely solid, and pair extremely well with a metal plate (K4 pro has metal plate) if you want a deeper, less clacky sound. If you want loud and poppy, these probably aren’t it. If you want smooth, heavy-ish, muted creamy + thocky, they’re excellent. Also led shine through is not great..

9/10 - I like my RGB on keyboards, so 1 point is knocked off. Switches feel smooth and heavy. I have a heavy hand when it comes to typing and the lighter gaming linear switches induced more typos for me. These feel very good and the deep thocky sound profile hits the spot. As I am typing this, I can't help but smile at the sound of marbles or dominoes being shuffled around. Only downside is that it does not allow light to passthrough it's solid black housing except for a small hole at the bottom (south). You will need south facing or side keycaps for RGB to shine through and even than the light is very dim. I do know that this design is intended, but this is a personal preference. I will be trying the Milky Yellow Pros soon to see if it allows more light at the sacrifice of a brighter sound.

Overall a great switch. buttery smooth travel and a softer bottom out the I expected. now the leds... since the switch housing is black the leds don't shine through as much. there isn't a deep cut out like other switches to let more light pass through. as a result the less are extremely dim on my board at least(Epomaker th66 pro, it has a white plate btw) also one thing to note: I have Cherry Profile Keycaps and my top row of sockets are north facing leds- I have no interference issues. I lied but this is a result of the board with the leds on the '1' socket being a taller than the rest so I have to use a different switch for that one key. but this allows you to compare the brightness. the '1' key is a WS Heavy Tactile- white housing(it has a larger bottom cutout) the rest of the board is the Gat OilKings and it is noticably dimmer(no cut out and all black housing) if you care more about the feel and sound of your board these are a great choice. if you care about the pretty lights I recommend a switch with a clear upper housing or at least white housing top and bottom if I knew my leds would be so dim I can't even see them I would've purchased another switch tbh- but I like the sound of these switches over what I had previously so ill be hanging onto them as daily drivers. I can verify the switches do feel prelubed btw and they are excellent no scratchyness or ping from the keys. Also these are a little heavier than regular linear as the switch has a longer spring so typos are less likely to occur.

These are awesome. The sound is as beautiful, smooth, and consistent as the horizon of the seas, and the typing experience feels like baby oil on a water slide (probably). Incredibly deep and rich sound, deserves a premium keyboard and premium keycaps for maximum value. I also like the more specific quantities available so people arent forced to buy an entire box of switches when they only need a few more.

I just swapped out my old switches for the Gateron Oil King V2 Pre Lubed 5pin Linear Switches, and the difference is amazing! The pre-lubed feature was a huge time-saver; I didn’t have to spend hours tweaking them myself. Installation was pretty straightforward, and they feel really sturdy and high quality. Whether I’m working or gaming, these switches respond perfectly every time. Definitely a great upgrade for anyone looking to enhance their keyboard without breaking the bank!

Creo que la descripción no es tan favorable, estos no fueron compatibles con mi teclado, deberían mostrar fotos en todos los ángulos para que sea más fácil identificar si queda o no. Mi teclado es de tres patitas y este es de 5 pero te go otro que es de 5 pero están acomodados de diferente forma. Aunque funcionan bien, y el sonido está estupendo son lineales.

Aunque el precio es mas elevado al de otros, estos switches estan pre lubricados y aunque el primer dia de uso se nota que tienes que darles un poco de si rapidamente se vuelven supercomodos de usar y con un sonido espectacular que buscaba. Lo unico hay que tener en cuenta que tienen un "peso" mayor por lo que vas a tener que hacerte de ellos aunque por mi lado me acostumbre muy rapidamente y me compre otro pack para cubrir todo el teclado con ellos. Es recomendable buscar en youtube para poder escucharlos antes de comprarlos como yo hice para ver si son de tu gusto, ya que son bastantes famosos no es dificil de encontrar un sound test bueno.
