Quest Nutrition Birthday Cake Protein Bar, 20g Protein, 12g Fiber, 12 Count

Quest Birthday Cake Protein Bars have become one of my go-to protein bar flavors because they give a nice balance of taste, convenience, and nutrition. I have tried different protein bars, and this flavor is one of the easiest ones for me to keep coming back to.The biggest reason I like this bar is the flavor. The birthday cake taste feels sweet and dessert-like without being too much. It gives that satisfying treat feeling, especially when I want something sweet but still want to stay on track with protein and lower sugar. The texture is chewy and filling, and the coating with the little birthday cake-style pieces makes it more enjoyable than a plain protein bar.The macros are also excellent. With 20g of protein, 1g of sugar, and 4g net carbs, it fits very well as a snack, post-workout option, or something quick when I need protein during a busy day. It is also gluten free and keto friendly, which makes it useful for different diet goals.The 12-count box is convenient because I can keep some at home, in my bag, or at work without having to buy single bars all the time.Overall, this is one of my favorite Quest flavors and a protein bar I actually enjoy eating regularly. Great taste, strong macros, and very convenient. Five stars!

NOTE: This is the second of three flavors that I have tried. The review is relatively the same with adjustments made for flavor.I work out 4-5 days per week and often struggle with getting enough protein in my diet. These bars were highly recommended and have turned out to be quite helpful. I have tried several varieties , and these truly taste like birthday cake. They are delicious, creamy, cake-like, and very sweet.. Eaten with a glass of milk they are quite filling; I always feel as if I have had a special treat! I often use them as an afternoon or evening snack and take them with me when I travel. Actually I keep one or two in my car just in case. They are convenient, individually wrapped, and quick and easy. Increasing other sources of protein in my diet, snacking on these bars, and continuing my workout regimen, my muscle mass has continued to develop along with improvement in my strength and stamina (I am over 70 years old). One thing alone has not been responsible, but the overall increase in the amount of protein in my diet has been aided by the addition of these protein bars. The only problem I have with them is keeping my non-exercising husband from eating them! Something about the idea of "birthday cake flavor" really activates my neurons, so much so that I've undertaken a side quest to determine the best tasting birthday cake flavored/branded bar, and to my surprise, it's this one. I say surprise because I had a quest bar variety pack a while ago and all the normal quest bar flavors in there were kinda mid. Best protein/calorie ratio of any brand besides David though.But yeah I've tried the birthday cake flavor from: Rule 1/Bar 1, One, Pure Protein, Barebell, David ('cake batter' technically), and Quests crispy birthday cake bar, but this one right here seems to be the goat. Lacks the chemical taste birthday cake flavoring seems to have sometimes (also tried birthday cake extract/flavoring which had those chemy vibes), the Pure Protein and Bar1 birthday cake bars suffer from that pretty significantly and barebells flavor to a lesser extent. The interior of this bar is soft and moist in a way reminiscent of what you'd expect from something cake-y, and the white-chocolate (or whatever it actually is) coating is pretty good and not weird as well. The runners up are probably the Quest Crunch Birthday Cake bar in a close second place, and Ones take in 3rd. The barebell one is worth at least trying if you're really into the birthday cake flavor idea. The rest are kind of trash tbh (respect to David for the great macros though, I would get those more if I wasn't poor lol. And Pure Proteins salted caramel is one of my favorite things to eat period so not trashing the other brands in general here).Essentially, if you seek a good birthday cake flavored bar, you need look no further (unless you have a thing for rice crispy treats or that kinda vibe, then definitely try the Quest Crispy Birthday Cake bar as well. Maybe the Bar 1 bar as well, was like a big rice crispy treat but flavor was slightly questionable, not too bad though.)

This bar almost made me give up on Quest protein bars! It was just too sweet for me. Good at first, but after buying a whole box of it, I quickly got tired of the taste. It felt like junk food to me and I like more nutritious foods. I think it's good as a special treat maybe one time, for a birthday lol, but I won't buy it again. Maybe others with a sweet tooth like it. I did come back to Quest and like the Cookies and Cream, that one made me give Quest another chance and I like their other flavors.
