## Overview

Seaguar STS Trout & Steelhead Fishing Line is a premium 100% fluorocarbon leader designed for serious anglers targeting finicky trout and steelhead. With an 8 lb breaking strength, superior abrasion resistance, and fast sinking properties, it delivers near-invisible performance in challenging waters. Engineered by the world leader in fluorocarbon lines, this 100-yard leader offers unmatched durability and stealth to get you in the strike zone faster and keep your catch on the line.

## Description

Seaguar, the inventor and world leader in fluorocarbon and premium fishing line, has introduced STS, its first species-specific fluorocarbon leader material targeting Salmon, Trout and Steelhead. STS is 100% fluorocarbon leader material that delivers incredible abrasion resistance and maximum impact and knot strength, all with a smaller line diameter than monofilament. This fast-sinking line gets you in the "strike zone" quicker - and with a lower refractive index than monofilament line, it is significantly less visible underwater.

## Features

- Seaguar STS Fluorocarbon Leader gets to the fish faster and holds its own in a fight
- Delivers the knot strength, abrasion resistance, and near-invisibility needed to target finicky trout in the world's most challenging waters
- Rocks, laydowns, brush – this line comes through the hazards more reliably than monofilament, and despite its smaller diameter
- STS Fluorocarbon offers greater impact strength. Great in current; sinks fast to get your bait into the feeding zone quickly
- Seaguar is the inventor and world leader in fluorocarbon fishing lines and leaders, trusted by today’s hottest pros and anglers of all species

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need stiff leader material for hoochies behind a flasher - is this material stiff and well suited for a hoochie leader?**
A: Plenty stiff and knots a lot better than the blue and is literally 1/4 the price

**Q: Whats a good test pound leader for #20 and #30 brain main line?**
A: I have had problems with light line. I would stay with at least #20, STS is brittle. I stick with maxima, it’s more visible at #10, but loses much less fish. It’s the choice between a few more hookups, but you will lose more fish on STS since it is brittle, especially with braid mainline. Take a piece of the STS and try to break it with an overhand knot to test it before you use it. At #10 my 5 year old could break it with his hands, so I never used it again..

**Q: What is the line diameter for 6lb?**
A: .008 inches

**Q: What diameter is the 12 pound test?**
A: .31 mm is the diameter of 12 pound test STS Trout and Seelhead.

Excellent line. Cant really fault it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Flurocarbon for salmon/seatrout
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 March 2025*

SEAGUAR ACE HARD - Superb abrasion proof flurocarbon- my go to for leaders both fly and spinning.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Main lining on a bfs bait caster
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 15 September 2024*

So the line clearly not designed to be a main line. I just wanted to try. Its stiff will spring out wide if you don't keep tension. but if you are good enough its great.
