HG Oven, Grill & BBQ Cleaner Spray, Removes Baked-On Food & Grease – 500ml

Having used the usual oven cleaners in the past from the usual discount stores that you need a hazmat suit and breathing equipment to use (yes you know the ones I mean) I decided to give this stuff a try after a couple of good experiences with other HG stuff. Yes, it's more expensive but worth it. I had a new oven and after letting it get a bit too dirty (ah, I'll do it tomorrow etc) I gave this a shot on the browning glass door. This stuff foams well and comes out in thin jets of foam. So I covered the door and it recommends to leave for 3-5 mins. I thought yeah more like 20 mins? Well, I was wrong. Within the first minute or so I could see the foam turning colour lifting the dirt. I got to about 4 mins and decided to clean it off as it actually looked like it had already cleaned the glass door. I spend more time with a damp microfibre just wiping the foam and rinsing the cloth than it took to actually work. No scrubbing, no mess, no hassle. Dried it all off with another clean microfibre and the door is spotless and it took absolutely no effort! The smell was like menthol to my nose. I'll tackle the rest of the oven next but this time I'm going to used a small soft pastry brush or paint brush to spread the foam around as I obviously sprayed way too much on with the thin jets that come out of the sprayer. Proper easy to use, door cleaned in less than 10 mins, whole oven 20 mins max and no nasty smells. Recommended!

Seems to work well over time. Not a strong reaction to grease. It loosen up grease and still needs to be scrubbed with abrasive scrubber.

TLDR: Definitely NOT a waste of money. Amazing product, works exactly as stated, exceeded expectations. A bit of elbow grease required to remove, but otherwise easy to use. My goodness. I need a moment. I'm all a-twitter. My husband has lived in our flat for nearly 10 years now, and in all the time I've known him he's never once cleaned the oven. And your day-to-day grime and grease has built up, topped off by what shall henceforth be known as The Cake Incident™ a few days ago, whereby an over-filled cake tin spilled sugary, fatty chocolate cake mix onto the floor of the oven and caused a Vesuvian smoke cloud to fill our kitchen. In a post-10pm panic, I went hunting on Amazon for cleaning goods. I knew we would need a heavy-duty substance to tackle this beast of a bakery disaster. After trawling through reviews, filling my cart with various substances of varying causticness and alleged efficacy, I stumbled across the HG 138050106 Oven, Grill and Barbeque Cleaner. The cheapest of the bunch, I found myself suspicious but desperate. Works in 3-5 minutes? What? This can't be. Oven cleaners take overnight commitment in my experience. So the alleged miracle substance arrived today, wrapped in plastic with a slight leak from where it had been stored slightly improperly (heed ye the warning to keep the bottle upright for sure). I donned my gloves, removed the plastic and rinsed the bottle, despairing as the instructions on the label started to rinse away. Thankfully enough remained for me to review the details of how to use, and I set about assaulting the blackened, charred interior of our cooker. The spray is very foamy, though rather narrow (not sure if there's another nozzle setting, I was just eager to get going). It's very easy to control and apply, though there will be a lot of squirting involved to cover the surfaces required. There is a very slight odour of cleaning product, but even in our windowless, unventilated kitchen at no point did it become unpleasant, overwhelming or provoke physical symptoms. With the dire state of our oven's inside and the glass door that conceals it, I made sure the surfaces were utterly slathered and decided of my own volition to give a generous 10-15 minutes for it to work. I left the oven door open, so it would work on the glass in a horizontal position and not leak down onto the kitchen floor. Upon the appointed time, I returned to the kitchen to find the formerly snowy white streaks of foam now a grimy, greasy brown and with Marigolds donned and sponge in hand, I set to wiping down the offending surfaces. HOLY HICKITY HECK, y'all. It straight up REMOVES so much of the grease and baked-on food. The glass will need another application or two, there are some really stubborn spots, especially around the seal. But everything is the cleanest I've ever seen. The floor of the oven is SO CLEAN. I can see through the glass! IN LESS THAN TWENTY MINUTES. The other oven cleaner I got as a just in case dictates 4 hours minimum, preferably overnight! Wiping down the foam and properly cleaning the oven afterward is a bit of a bear. You need to wipe out the foam with a damp sponge, then wash a few times with soapy water and to be careful I would suggest a final rinse with hot, clean water. So I give it 4 stars there, because mobility-wise I've got some issues and that does make it a bit trickier and harder to manage, but otherwise wow. Just wow. Five stars. 11/10. Well done, HG. You've got a newly committed customer.

This product is great! I moved house and the oven was in need of a deep clean so I got this because research showed it was the best in the market. I can definitely vouch for thay as my oven looks brand spanking new. Honestly speaking, it was more hard work that imagined as you do have to leave it on longer than recommended, but with the right tools to accommodate, it worked wonders and great value for mine as well! Suggestions: • I had 2 trial and errors before getting it right and found that leaving it on over night to soak up the grease worked wonders. • Get a scouring stick and maybe an oven scraper to support. The scourinf stick was AMAZING! • It does have a steong chemical smell so ventilate well. • If you can, I used a steamer to help with the final cleanse. • When finished, run an empty oven on 200° for an hour to kill whatever left.

Product great but Amazon just tossed the parcel over the fence - particularly annoying as there is a large Parcel box by the front door

Wasn’t sure if this would be good as it’s cheaper than the well known brands. But I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at how quickly it melts away the grease and debris from my 57cm kettle bbq grill and charcoal grill. I leave it on for 30 minutes and it works its magic. Saves on elbow grease. But don’t clean it on grass as any drips will kill the grass and leave a bald patch.

Not as good as I expected

Excellent BBQ Cleaner. Probably the best I have used. BBQ Griddle & Rack cleaned within minutes and with little or no fuss. Spray on, leave a few minutes then rinse off. Simple!

Bon produit! Efficace pour nettoyer la saleté du four! À savoir : il n'y a pas beaucoup de produit dans le contenant pour l'utilité qu'on souhaite en faire (je m'en suis servi une fois seulement et je n'en ai presque plus...) Le produit est arrivé gelé et le contenant légèrement fissuré, mais le service à la clientèle s'est bien occupé de ce problème! ;)

Got many oven cleaners, but only this cleaner really worked. Highly recommend it.
