I've had cheap plastic ones and ratchet ones in the past and they never seem to last. Ridgid have outdone themselves with these cutters. They have a spring back mechanism so there's no fiddling about with one hand trying to open the cutters, the blade is sharp and can be removed to be sharpened or replaced. Has a locking clasp to keep them shut while storing them. They are on the pricier side but I would definitely recommend them over cheaper alternatives. ### ⭐ Better, cheaper plastic cutters out there. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 11 April 2021* I would not recommend this product. I was using it to cut aquatherm multi layered pipe. They are awkward on bigger sizes and it takes a lot of effort to cut through the pipe. On the smaller size (22mm) it cuts about 90% of the way then stops and you have to turn the pipe to cut the final 10%. Also you don't get a straight cut.
