Best blackout tent!
Bought for our son and daughter in laws first baby. It is perfect for putting the baby down for naps, or bedtime when the room is still bright. They live in a tiny apartment and have the baby in a multi- use room. They are planning to add the fan attachment for better air circulation. It is easy to put up and take down. They take it everywhere! They love this product and have recommended it to all of their friends with babies.

Skeptical
We were originally skeptical this would work for our almost 1 year old for our trip, but it worked like a charm! He slept like he was at home. Two things that we weren’t anticipating: 1. The pocket that holds the camera is clear plastic and some mesh material on the sides - we had to flatten out the plastic to get a clear picture with the camera which took quite a bit of time but in the end worked out. 2. This thing is thick material and does block out all light, but as you can imagine it’s not breathable. We didn’t get the fan with this purchase but kind of wishing we had as it got warm inside the tent. We had a floor fan that we stuck under the tent so cooler air was circulating (did let some light in) but wondering if the fan that comes with the tent would’ve been a better option to keep it cooler. Overall, super happy with the product. If you’re on the fence on whether or not to spend the money, recommend you go for it. A well slept baby is worth its weight in gold. Note: this fit our 4Moms Breeze Plus Portable Playard.

Fits over Hiccapop inflatable toddler bed and nugget cushions
UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: We have zero regrets with this purchase. My husband was 1000% annoyed with me purchasing this and over this last year has happily admitted he is super grateful I didn’t listen to him and just bit the bullet and purchased this and the hiccapop toddsler bed air mattress. We have had to use this pod while camping, moving across the country in squishy hotel rooms, flying back across the country to visit family, rearrange sleeping areas to accommodate guests, EVEN ON THE BEACH for nap time with the waves as nature’s white noise machine and it has come in clutch every time! We used it for four weeks straight just a month ago and this time with our kids nugget cushions. It stretched over those suckers like magic and when we put it away, it bounced back to retain its shape and wasn’t stretched out! Our toddler is much bigger and much more active than he was a year ago when we first bought this and I’m shocked how tough the zipper is with how much he and my older kids jump in and out of it and land on the open doorway and open and close the zipper. That price tag is still a major con for anyone living on a budget, but if you can make payments on it or find a used one, you won’t regret it!!! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• High five to Amazon for getting this to me two days early right at nap time for our first day of construction at home! Kids rooms are first, so everyone is sleeping with mom and this arrived just in time! Pros: 1. Super soft stretchy material makes it easy to work with putting it over a Hiccapop inflatable toddler bed. I setup our pack-n-play and my toddler’s head and feet touched the top and bottom length wise. I legit had just set it up when this and our Hiccapop inflatable toddler bed arrived at the door just a few minutes later! It fit perfectly over the bed, just had to stretch it over. The stretchy jersey knit fabric plus the open base and tent poles made that easy and didn’t compromise the pod. 2. The net for the fan and the clear plastic pocket for the baby cam are both super easy to access at the top of the pod. 3. You don’t need to buy the fan/pod combo, you can put any small fan in the mesh pouch as it is not a special shape, just a generic pouch. 4. Easy setup. If you’ve ever set up a tent before, you will find this easy and self explanatory. The instructions are on the carrying case that comes with it. I didn’t use the pack-n-play to set up, just did it on the floor like I would a tent. Cons: 1. That price tag is pretty hefty. While I’m happy with the purchase, I still cringe when I think of how much I spent on it. I took the plunge due to how many friends said it was worth it. 2. It’s pretty warm inside, so if you’re not in a cool room, no fan is going to keep it cool, you might just have to keep the window part unzipped and open to get air in.

Best money you'll spend
This is the best money as a parent I've ever spent. It has totally changed the game in terms of traveling with a kid. We can now sleep in the same hotel room without sneaking around in the dark after 7 pm. It's surprisingly sound blocking, especially if you put the sound machine IN the tent with them. It makes my life SO much better. I actually bought a second one for my other child. It's compact enough that you can travel with it on a plane without losing all your luggage space, it's quick and easy to set up and is really durable. I would recommend this to anyone who ever has to share a room with a kid, especially if they're sleep trained.

Must for room sharing
Overall we love this product. It’s really helped our daughters sleep training process as we share a room with her. I like that it’s breathable and doesn’t feel stuffy. There’s a lot of pockets, specifically for a fan and monitor. However, it’s a little bigger than expected and harder together than I would have like. My biggest issue however is the opening. We have a mini crib and opening into crib is super small. We have to slide out baby in and it knocks her in the face every time. The side of the crib take up at least 75% of the opening. We have to pu the slumberpod on books to raise it so that we could actually take her in and out without scraping her face or just getting her out comfortably.

Just buy it.
I originally bought this for a trip where my 14 month old was not going to have his own room. When I told my parents and husband about the slumberpod, they were skeptical at best. They thought it was wholly unnecessary and the baby would be fine sleeping in his pack n play in my room with my husband. Well I bought it anyways because I really wanted a vacation where I did not need to wake up at 6am or earlier with a crying baby. Mind you, I have tried everything under the Sun to get my child to sleep in even until 7am, and nothing worked. Enter the slumberpod. First night in the slumberpod, my child slept until 9am. It was sheer magic and unheard of. Okay, this was the day after travel, maybe he was just over excited being in a new place. Surely this could not last. Man was everyone wrong, I have been using the slumberpod for over a week now. Both on vacation and since we got back in his bedroom. Once again for the first time since becoming a parent I am able to sleep in past 6am. Taking turns with my husband regarding who is getting up with the baby each day have officially ended. Now all three of us get to sleep. I cannot praise this device highly enough. This should be on every parents registry. I am about ready to buy one for every one of my friends with children, my mothers house, and my mother in laws house. This is the best money I have ever spent. With that being said, the only con I can find is that the area where you place the baby monitor is not great, we use a nanit and the thick plastic makes it very hard to see through to the baby. But it is manageable enough if it means that I can get upwards of 12 hours plus of sleep at night if I go to bed when the baby goes to bed. If you’re skeptical, don’t be. It is absolute sorcery the way the slumberpod works.

We use it nightly
*Really long review, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible.* I think this is a really smart invention. We have used the SlumberPod every night for 9 weeks and will continue to use it while our baby (currently 13 weeks) room shares with us. Before I get into the review, I think it’s appropriate to offer a little back story so you understand my perspective and why we use this product. When I was pregnant, we didn’t “prepare” our cat well for bringing a baby home. At the time, our cat slept in our room on a cat bed and we would leave the door open, so he can roam around during the night if he chose. When we brought our daughter home from the hospital, we put her in our room in a pack-n-play and had to close the door at night (cat not in the room) because we were concerned he would jump in the pack-n-play. This made our cat cry and moan and meow ALL NIGHT LONG. This went on for weeks. I figured he would eventually stop meowing at all hours of the night, but at 3 weeks he was still going strong. While I was pregnant, I saw SlumberPod on a Facebook group I follow and people were raving about it, but at the time I didn’t know if I would purchase it right away because it’s a bit spendy and we knew we weren’t going to travel with our baby while she’s teeny tiny. I had looked around at alternative privacy pods that were less expensive, but frankly I found something I didn’t like about the ones I had looked at... I’ll touch more on that later on, so you know where my head was when making my decision. After about 3 weeks of hardly any sleep (between a newborn baby and a cat meowing all night), I purchased SlumberPod from Amazon in the wee hours of the morning. Did I / do I feel silly spending $150 to accommodate a cat, Yes! But, what do you do?! I needed sleep and I needed my daughter to be safe. I can honestly say, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. We can leave our bedroom door open, which means our cat doesn’t meow all hours of the night anymore. I’m a better mom when I’m fully rested. **I do feel a responsibility to say that you should use common sense when buying SlumberPod to keep an animal out of the pack-n-play/ cot. I’m not sure if the makers of SlumberPod advise using it this way, but it works for us. My cat is 11 years old and just eats and sleeps. In all truthfulness, my cat probably wouldn’t have jumped in the pack-n-play anyway, but it’s nice to have something to keep him out just in case.** Here are my thoughts on the cheaper options I had considered and why I decided to pass on them: I looked at two other privacy pods and both of them have a flat top (where SlumberPod has a dome, tent-like design). I had concerns that if the cat did try to jump on the privacy pod- thinking it’s a table or other flat surface- he would land in my baby’s pack-n-play, which is obviously a safety concern. I also read reviews where people with older kiddos had issues with the kid standing in the pack-n-play and the top opening because of the flat surface and velcro. Before using SlumberPod, I had some concerns so I want to share what those concerns were and then my findings after using it daily for 9 weeks: 1. Would my baby be able to breathe well with a tent pod over her pack-n-play? Yes, she’s able to breathe just fine. There are several air vents and we have all of them open and the SlumberPod is still plenty dark with the vents open. 2. Would it be a pain to change the sheets on the infant insert mattress while keeping SlumberPod over the pack-n-play? No issues. The pack-n-play mattress has a tri-fold, so I just fold the mattress together and slide it in and out through the large door. 3. Would the zipper wake my baby when she’s in the drowsy state and we are putting her to bed? This probably depends on your child, but we haven’t had any issues with the zipper disturbing her. Additional thoughts: I also really like the baby monitor pocket. There is a clear window inside so if you have a video monitor you can still see your child. You can’t beat the customer service! The SlumberPod inventors are a mother- daughter duo and you can tell they really do care about their customers. I know it’s a spendy product, but I honestly think it’s worth it. I look at it as an investment and since we use it nightly, the cost per use goes down each day. Although we haven’t traveled with it yet, it seems like it would be easy to travel with because it’s so compact and isn’t too heavy- and yes, it comes with a travel case.

LOVE IT!
If you want a product that is going to change your life buy this. We traveled for 5 weeks with my toddler and she slept through the night EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I didn’t have to worry about light at the hotels and Airbnbs, we just popped her into her cot and zipped it up! She was happy and so were we! It takes about 5 minutes to set up but very quick to pack down.

Precious sleep!
We purchased the SlumberPod for travelling with our toddler and it has been one of the most useful sleep products we've bought. It creates a dark sleep environment even in bright hotel rooms, family homes and shared accommodation, helping maintain familiar sleep routines when away from home. It packs down surprisingly small and becomes much easier to set up after a couple of uses. Pros: • Creates an effective blackout sleep environment • Excellent for travel, holidays and room sharing • Helped maintain normal sleep routines away from home • Packs down relatively compact for storage and transport • Good quality materials and construction Cons: • Initial setup can take a little practice • Takes up some space in luggage • Premium price compared to simpler blackout solutions Overall, a fantastic travel product for families who prioritise sleep. It has made travelling with a toddler significantly easier and has been well worth the investment for us.

A stroke of genius! Takes away one layer of stress of travelling with a baby/toddler!
What a stroke of genius! No longer are we worrying about using tin foil on windows or crap “travel blackout blinds” that don’t work…. This creates a cosy little zone for your little one and our baby settled in it within minutes thanks to the blackout it provides (even in a bright room at nanny & granddad’s). Love the pouches for the fan and the monitor. Only criticism is that because the monitor pocket is made of plastic, it clouds the view from the monitor but not so much that you can’t see anything… it’s just not as clear… but this is a price I’m willing to pay for the blackout quality and stress this takes away when travelling! Folds down nicely and is easy to put up (though would advise finding a large area to assemble it in as the poles are long and easy to catch on a wall in a smaller space 😝)

Might need to add a fan on super hot nights
Very easy to put together and dismantle. Keeps the cot space dark.
