McNett Tenacious Tape Fabric and Seam Repair

A recent camping trip in storm conditions left us with an F shaped rip in our Vango tent. Apart from already compromising the structure the way it ripped meant it was only going to get worse and tear further. Product was delivered promptly. Instructions are simple but cover what you need. Tape is easy to peel off the backing, backing has a graph paper grid for easy sizing and cutting. Lined up the ripped pieces and applied tape, flipped it over and did the other side for good measure. Really good adhesion, easy to rub out air bubbles and on the inner its barely visible, slightly more visible on the darker outside colour but still fine. You can see its been repaired but its not obvious. Very strong bonding across the whole area, the damaged areas are now stronger than the surrounding material. Its also flexible so on tent fabric it still moves and folds without being too stiff. Ideal Very good product, only thing to be aware of, its not even a criticism as the size is in the description. You don't get much in a pack - our rip was in an F shape 15cm on the long end by 12cm. One pack was enough to comfortably cover this on both sides of the canvas, but that was it. All used now. If you need to cover a larger area you may need multiple packs Very pleased with the result and will buy again if we have any more damage to the tent

Better than gaffer tape, but quite expensive for what it is

Having a gorgeous doberman puppy, I thought it was time I booted myself out with all the latest walking gear - like you see walkers wearing on television programmes and adverts. So I went ahead and sorted myself out with expensive clothing and boots. Then a problem occurred. While in a hurry to unzip my pocket to get the doggy poo bags out, the inside of the pocket became caught in the zip. Needless to say, lots of pulling ensued followed by the need for scissors. I was devastated and left with a chunk of the material of my coat missing from inside the pocket. I searched on Amazon and found this little beauty. Let me tell you it WORKS! It's not very often you buy things these days that actually work as described. I cut a small piece off (the tape comes in a protective red sleeve) and rounded off the corners as the instructions instruct you to do. I placed it over the hole and rubbed. A few have gone by now and the seal of this tape is still holding strong! The rest of the tape is safely stored away for if I ever need it again. Highly recommended!

This has to be a good review because this is a repeat purchase. My tenacious tape has walked the west highland way and been on family camping trips, hopefully not to be used, but an absolute life saver in an emergency. I used to carry a length of gaffer tape wrapped around the handle of my maglite for emergencies, but not any more, this stuff is so much better. I've used this on a groundsheet with a hole in it and on a ripped waterproof jacket, both successfully. Although both were later repaired using stitched and sealed seams, there was no real need as the tenacious tape repair showed no sign of giving way or letting me down in any way. It did not peel at the edges, leak or give way under tension. On the negative side, this is a repeat purchase because I used the last of my last roll trying to repair a deflated airbed on holiday. To be fair, I wasn't expecting it to last; it did the business, 'though, and at least got me through the night. New airbed now purchased!!! My new tenacious tape has been put away unopened and ready for my next adventure outing.

The tape seems of good quality with strong adhesive. Can't comment on how long it will last yet. Be warned you don't get a lot for your money.

Did exactly as it said it would

Not as big a roll as I thought. Sadly my 6 month old puppy tore a few holes in my brand new waterproof "ski" jacket this left me angry and upset as I didn't want to have to fork out for a new one when it took me a while to save for the one I had bought. I had assumed I would have to bin it or wear it with the rips in I searched the web for something suitable And found a few different options but decided on this one as from reviews etc that this seemed the best option. I placed the tape inside the jacket as placing the tape on the outside looked stupid it wasn't as clear as I thought and the repairs were very obvious and I hated it. There were no instructions with mine but not hard to quess how to use it. you need to cut it so that there is at least and inch each side of the damage so it does come quite predominant and is therefore visible to visible for my liking and I would guess for other people as well. So if you need or want an entirely invisible repair then this is not for you and I would advise you to keep looking for something else. Hence the 4 stars. Coat now looks like it's repaired just hope it holds up repair. I have not yet tested it in the heavy rain When I tried putting the tape on the outside to repair the holes in my jacket, but ended up looking like I had put sellotape on it. I think this is best for repairing tents and certain clothing in which you don't need to look smart and you aren't bothered if repairs are showing I ended up rolling the tape up and sicking it inside the holes and repaired it that way It was Not what I was expecting to have to do but oh well . Hope someone invents a better way to cover up and repair holes in jackets.

As the name says it all... tenacious... I have a pair of waterproof over trousers that had a rip in the groin area (don't ask how). The rip is quite large about 2-3 inch in a Y shape in all three arms (that's how the groin area is usually being sewn together), despite being made of ripstop, the fault lies on the sewn seam, hence a quick brushing with seam seal adhesive + supporting material and let it dry on the inside then applying tenacious tape on the outside, again some seam seal adhesive around the tenacious tape and walla.... all permanently seal up. I am not sure why some of them being labelled RED or BLUE... perhaps its just the carrier box color they are refering to? The one I receive is CLEAR but the carrier box is blue in color, not red as shown in pic. We have all kinds of tape in our collection (gorilla, electrical, duct, aluminium, kapton, packing, PP, fiber packing, etc tapes) and I must say tenacious tape is on its own class. It is still the best tape for repairing tear on waterproof clothing and tents as thats what they are made for, nothing else is more suitable as a permanent fix. Don't forget to get the seam grip adhesive made by the same company.

Produit conforme et efficace mais peu discret. Tout L’intérêt est de le mettre à l’intérieur. Cependant, même en y prêtant attention, très difficile à faire sur des petits trous ( plus petit que le petit doigt de la main) ce qui était mon cas. Si vous n’arrivez pas à passser votre petit doigt dans la déchirure, ce n’est pas la peine d’essayer la pose à l’intérieur.

Kanonbra produkt. Användes till att laga en reva på ett solsegel utomlands. Skulle bara vara provisoriskt tills ett nytt köptes, men tejpen höll så bra att det var onödigt. Har nu klarat en säsong med gasande sol och regning höst utan problem. Revorna blev lagade - Revorna doldes - Tejpen smälter in och syns inte. Har köpt fler att ha i backup.

Certo se sì pensa che si pagano 12 euro per mezzo metro di nastro adesivo viene un giramento, ma tutto sommato vale quello che costa (infatti l'ho ricomperato, la qualità si paga).
