Is this suitable for use in petrol fuel tanks? does it stay soft or go hard after sometime? Cheers

Hylomar is primarily a sealant for joints and gaskets and is a non hardening compound and although resistant to oil and fuel I would not actually recommend putting it inside a fuel tank. Hope this helps

Is this suitable for sealing the rubber gasket (fitted in the plastic fuel tank through which the fuel line passes from the tank to carb of a chainsaw

I do not see why not; i used it for a very similar job, the fuel tank sender unit on my RIB still working fine with no problem. All mating faces spread a thin film across.

Hi, can anyone please tell me whether this will seal between a metal sealing plate and a plastic petrol tank on a car? Many thanks

i would not recomend you doing that as it is highly inflamable, john.

Can this be used on the gasket of a kettle for a boiling water tap?

Yes developed by rolls Royce I always use it on my bike engine cases which are well above this temp. Note a screwed tight gasket on a tap shouldn’t need it really 😁
