Great experience! Just bought 10 more
We took a chance and were quite pleased. We purchased 10 caterpillars and received at least 13. All of them made it to the crysils stage, one or two didn't emerge but the rest went like clockwork. We just released them with our daughter in the back yard and she was very into it. We are so pleased we are purchasing another 10. Also I should mention we are in California and all of them survived the trip all the way from Florida!

14 out of 14 Beauties!
I bought two sets tiny caterpillars in Mid-May. When we got them, they were so tiny and so much fun to watch grow over the next two weeks. Today is June 5 and I’m happy to report, 14 out of 14 butterflies were released into the world! It was amazing to see them grow and so easy because of the cup of food that comes with it. After they formed the chrysalis, we took the top off and attached it to the side of the habitat. Once they arrived, we added a couple cotton balls with Gatorade/sugar water and fruit at the bottom for them to enjoy. This was an awesome experience and we will be back next year to get another batch! Highly recommend!

Yay butterflies!
I was worried about them arriving alive, as they're shipped usps and take several days. They all came absolutely fine and alive! Mine were all moving and ready to go. I ordered 10 and got 3 extra! Which was a nice surprise. Looking forward to watching the process with my kids! *First 2 pics are day 1 of receiving them. Second 2 pictures are them today, 6 days later! Will keep updating their journey! Out of 13 caterpillars, I got 12 healthy butterflies! They were so pretty and so cool to watch the process. The 13th caterpillar was the runt. It's chrysalis was so tiny and I knew it wouldn't be okay. It did come out, but horribly deformed. I hand fed it, brought it outside for some fresh air and sun and humanely euthanized it. I felt bad, but I was not about to let it suffer. It was all a really amazing experience for myself and my children! Would definitely order again and suggest you do too!

Hit or miss but still fun
I've bought two batches of caterpillars from this company. The first batch did very well and almost all of the butterflies survived. This batch however is a different story. I ordered 10 butterflies but by the time they arrived they were almost fully grown caterpillars only a day from cocooning up. Out of the 14(they gave me 4 extras) only 6 have survived. The others died during various stages of building their chrysalis. They shriveled up and were gone. I have no idea why. The conditions for them were perfect once I received them. I want to buy more but I'm hesitant now because of their cost. It's too many dying on me so I can't justify spending money on them. I know the company would make it right if I asked but I think I'm done with this. I don't know what kind of conditions the larva are subjected to by the time they make it to me. Maybe if I try again in early spring I will have better luck.

Lengthy and Poor Transit Issue
Rating is four out of five because of Postal Service handling. And a suggestion for Clearwater. The caterpillars arrived today and seemed viable. We’ll wait until they become butterflies to know for sure. The package took five days in transit to get here and was in my hometown for over a day before it was finally delivered. All caterpillars seem to be alive, but in one of the containers, the food was broken up. Suggestions to Clearwater. First, stamp on the package “Live Caterpillars”. And second, see if there is a way, without extra cost you, to expedite the transit time for these little creatures. In my mind, five days is too long for them to be in and out of heat and whatever other conditions they go through with the Postal Service. Thank you. I can’t wait to see my little critters become chrysalises and butterflies and then release them in my pollinator garden.
