Perfect for Cappuccinos and Lattes on the Go!
I love this thing, just used it with my OutIn Nano to make a delicious cappuccino in my hotel room. As a bit of a coffee addict, traveling sucks sometimes. Sure I can get a cappuccino at a coffee shop, but not before I wake up, get showered, get dressed, and drag my tired self out the door. With this frother, my OutIn Nano, some shelf stable milk, a few Nespresso pods, and a cup I can whip up a tasty cappuccino or latte before I try to get my day started. So let’s talk about how it works. It’s a handheld frother. You put some milk in a cup and turn this thing on and it froths the milk. But holy sweet mother of whatever savior you believe in, this thing is POWERFUL! I wasn’t expecting it and made a little bit of a mess the first time, but now I know better and the second time was perfection! This doesn’t heat the milk, so if you want hot milk you’ll have to be staying somewhere with a microwave, but for me the OutIn Nano makes the espresso hot enough that it works out. The two screens let you choose your foam texture, which is nice, the finer one is more like a micro foam, while the coarser one is closer to what you’ll get with a more traditional, whisky type frother. The travel cover is a brilliant addition, keeping the extra screen within easy reach and protecting the whole setup. I didn’t worry once about things getting damaged in my backpack. Definitely worth the $50 price tag, and makes me seriously consider getting their carafe-based model for at home, even though I’m really happy with my Instant Pot brand frother. Subliminal makes a quality product for sure!

Mixes well and no scratches on cup
Product is excellent! I bought it because I don’t like my cups getting scraped with the stainless milk frothers. I am not creating fancy lattes but rather mix protein powders in my coffee. Mixes them perfectly! I’ll bet it would make beautiful foam designs too. Very powerful. Haven’t had it long enough to opine on battery issues discussed in other reviews. Hopefully the company gets that figured out before I have to replace.

Best Foamer on the Market!
If you love a high quality and sleek design frothed then this is perfect for you. Not only does it have 2 different speed settings it also comes with 2 different nano screeds so that you can customize the amount of foam. Also very easy to clean and comes with a wall mount. It works perfectly with my non-diary milk which usually takes so long to froth but with the NanoFoamer this is quick and gets the job done.

The lithium battery choice is problematic; cannot recommend
UPDATE: I still cannot find a lithium battery that works other than one that has consistently bad reviews on Amazon. I have tried reputable battery companies. I contacted Subminimal, and they will do nothing because I am 2 months outside the warranty. However, I think anyone who purchases this is purchasing it with the expectation that they will be able to replace the lithium battery when it dies. I do not recommend this product. Decreasing from 2 stars to 1 star. ------- it works well but be aware the lithium battery life is only about a year, and it is not easy finding a replacement with the correct specifications. Why they would choose a battery that is hard to find, I do not understand. In addition, the company's video on how to replace the battery only provided partial specifications since it simply said to refer to the parameters in the battery housing on the device. After spending $15 on the battery + shipping, I realized it wouldn't fit into the frother. I'm going to add the specs here for anyone who already owns this milk frother. Good luck. Lithium button top 18500, 3.7V, 1400mAh. I'm throwing this in the trash and will be a foamer that is cheaper and without this lithium battery problem.

After 1 year of daily use: Sturdy, Rechargeable, and Easy to Clean
I ordered this product in January 2023 after my Zulay wire foamer stopped working after less than a year. While waiting for it to arrive, however, I found a tiny screwdriver and took my Zulay apart, and found that the problem was that over time milk had gotten into where the wire rod enters the motor housing, and solidified there, and that was what was stopping the Zulay from working. The other problem with the wire foamers, however, is if the wire rod gets bent even just a little, it dramatically reduces effective power. But with a little cleanup and careful straightening of the rod, I got the Zulay working like new again, just as the Subminimal arrived. Unlike the Zulay or similar, the Subminimal has a thick rod that cannot be easily bent. Also, the propeller and screen of the Subminimal is super easy to keep clean, which is not true of the wire foamers. I like my milk hot, so a certain amount of scalded milk builds up on the coiled wire of the wire foamer (true of all brands, not just Zulay). This doesn't rinse off, so requires occasional soaks and careful scrubbing with a soft toothbrush. To clean the Subminimal I just stick the business end under hot running water and turn it on, then remove the screen and repeat the rinse, then put the screen on and store. For the latte artist, the Subminimal is going to be the preferred tool, and they provide website tutorials on how to get the perfect foam and make those fancy designs. Honestly, I'm about convenience and tasty lattes in the morning. I pour my cold milk into a tall ceramic mug, and heat it in the microwave while I'm making the expresso in an Aeropress. I whisk the milk in the mug and pour the expresso into it, which is opposite from what a barista does. The Zulay wire foamer is FAST. It creates a dense foam of mixed bubble sizes (not ideal for latte art) in about ten seconds. In fact the Zulay is so powerful that it is pretty hard to use in a shallow round cup without making a mess, but it works great in a tall mug. With the Subminimal I get a dense microfoam on top of liquid milk, with less volume overall in the mug. Pros and cons for both. I really hate "disposable" gadgets, so I love the durable quality of the Subminimal. But for early morning ease of use, the Zulay wins. For the absolute best quality foam throughout my mug, I had to use both! The Zulay very quickly created a high volume of mixed bubble size foam, and then the Subminimal churned it creating a high volume microfoam. However... 3 months later the Zulay crapped out again. After a year of daily use, however, the Subminimal is working perfectly. The plastic housing of the screen did break after about 9 months, but replacement screens are pretty cheap on the Subminimal site. The Subminimal isn't as good as a barista's hot steam foamed milk, but it does the trick, is reliable, and quick, and is built to last.

Nice former almost too strong though. This former is really strong, and I mean really strong. Jose of the time when foaming drinks, it’s best to put in a larger cup or pitcher jug, otherwise you’re going to have milk flung across your kitchen everywhere (happened to me a few times). Other than that, it foams my drinks a lot and is really good. I also like the fact that there’s 2 filters sizes for smaller or more foam.
