FH7S in-Ear Earphones High-Performance 1DD+4BA Hybrid Technology IEM Earbuds with 3.5/4.4mm Plug

I had a pair of FiiO FD1 which I bought from the US Amazon site a few years ago, and I loved them. Single driver but don't let that have you think they were not great. They had a very flat sounding, not overly subby and across the spectrum quite pleasing, in a non-hifi way. Anyway, I lost them! 🤦 left at a gig some place, who knows. Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and go for a more upmarket set. As I liked FiiO, decided to go with them and get these. Immediate out of the box you can see where some of the extra cost comes in. A really nice leather case, a PILE of extra buds (way more than other brands) plus some other extra bits for maintenance and using with a microphone. Cable quality feels more professional too, sheath is a thicker and had a toggle to maintain mounting once inserted. Now then, Sound, the important part. I was pleasantly surprised, though I shouldn't be as they did cost 3 times more than the FD1. But on my previous IEMs I had quite a high scoop over the aux buss to compensate the low and top end which would get lost mid gig. With these though, I immediately needed to flatten. Once done, the sound was pleasing, clear across the rang and just enough low end. I am not heavily into subby IEMs, I much prefer clarity on top end and these deliver. I wish I hadn't lost my FD1 so I could make a side by side comparison. But I have compared them to KZ ASX I have, and they sound significantly nicer to me. So, are they worth the extra compared to the plethora of IEMs for that £100, perhaps not but there is an improvement to sound and build quality plus the extra buds and other things that come with it. If they were £200 or thereabouts, I'd likely say then definitely. I for one am very happy with them and am glad I chose them.

My First IEMs so I really didn't know what I was getting, to be honest. I'd read a little, but basically took a risk. Well, that one paid off! The aspect I like the most is the versatility. Changing the filter and the tips really does change the sound, basically you get a lot of control over the IEM. The 13.6mm dynamic drivers really work,the bass is awesome! I was actually a bit shocked as to how good it is. Everything is there, mids, uppers...all I was looking for. But the key is picking the filter and tips, I can't stress that enough. I've settled on the treble filter as the bass isn't diminished, it's just tighter. Tips, the new HS18s...I actually go to bed wearing these. Super comfortable and the sound is great. My main worry was the semi open design, just how bad would it be in the noisy world? Which led me to my most memorable and enjoyable experience: on a very noisy bus listening to AC/DC. I might as well have been sitting at home, I was smiling like a Cheshire cat! I can definitely recommend these, no reservations!

These are a seriously amazing set or headphones. The sound stage and separation is almost spot on; that said, it does depend on what you are listening too. I wouldn’t recommend these for classical music, but you won’t be disappointed even if this is the purpose you need it for, as it performs very well. For Pop, Jazz, Reggae and even Hindi music, these headphones are brilliant. A tad expensive, but Fiio quality does, after all, speak for itself.

I love these. I don't care for ''detail retrieval'' nonsense. I want my music to sound smooth, warm amd full-bodied and these deliver that when listening to old recordings with high dynamic range. And I don't find them lacking treble. The only negative I can mention is, that the cable feels cheap compared with my FH9. They sound like warmer sibling of the FH9. The cheap feeling for the cable is not a reson for me to take a star off. I have spare cables anyway.

These are my favourite headphones. I think it may depend how you feel about in ear headphones but I have always preferred them and these are the best sounding set I have ever had. They are remarkable even when using a lower quality source. They are particularly lovely when playing string instruments.

With something like 56 possible tuning combinations with the ear tips and ports you'll find more than one or two likeable combinations and tradeoffs. To get the best from them you'll need a likewise priced dac e.g. chord mojo2 and either EQ or DSP to get that last bit of tuning out of them. When after weeks of experiment you do finally get the perfect balance you'll forget they exist and feel like you're imagining music in some surreal and vivid manner but the journey to tame/tune the bass and treble response into holographic heaven is no quick task. Edit: update Had to arrange a return due to what I suspect is a failed solder on the cable. And to further my experience opinion over time in fairness they seem a little lacking in the ultimate resolve favouring a kind of brute force over technicality. Element in lower treble get pulled from there rightful place and pushed into a higher energy grouping in the top end. Base is enjoyable but favours quantity over "fidelity" quantity and the kids are a little lacking in resolution. Take all this as very minor nitpicking in it's ultimate signature. What it does do well is enjoyment and a sense of vast expanse with entertaining dynamics but if you pursue the truth and subtlety from each recording these aren't for you because these IEM's brand every track with there own signature. An entertaining signature that wonders slightly away from the recorded truth.

I have nothing bad to say about these IEMs. I've had many pairs of IEMs over the past 15 years, but nothing that even comes remotely close to these, both in terms of build and audio quality. The sub bass is a true bassheads delight, not overpowering at all, but it's there and there's no lack of it. Some have complained that the mid bass is somewhat muddy and ever-present, but I'm using a BTR7 with built-in EQ and I'm able to tailor the sound specifically to my taste. I don't have the mid-bass issue that others have talked about. Mids and highs are equally as good, even at ear bleed volumes, and they don't scream out at you as some other IEMs that I've used. No sibilance issues and although they are not studio monitors, they weren't really meant to be either. There is coloration of course, by design, and it works well for me. I can't imagine cranking these things up to the BTR7's capability, as you'd probably blow your eardrums long before you perceive any distortion. They are extremely efficient and require very little power to drive them. I'm using the 4.4 mm connector on the BTR 7, so again, very little power required to drive these things. With the amount of headroom that you have on a DAC, you have phenomenal clarity right through it the entire range. I'm using the bass filters and the foam tips and I get a pretty good seal with more than ample bass! Unlike most Bluetooth earbuds, they are not noise canceling other than the passive noise cancellation you obtain with a good fit and seal. These will definitely not ward off a jet engine if you're sitting on the wing, nowhere near as effective as a good Bluetooth earbud but, that's the only trade-off. There is no comparison to any Bluetooth earbud, Bose and Sony included. I have both of the latest and greatest in both brands, and they basically just sit on the shelf now, or I may use them for my TV, but now that I've been using these FH9's, I don't think I'll be going back to a Bluetooth earbud for everyday listening, anytime soon. If you're on the fence about these, just buy them. I can't imagine anybody being disappointed in either the audio or build quality. They're somewhat on the heavier side, which is a big plus for me, because they feel extremely balanced in my ears, and that little bit of extra weight when I take them out of the case, just assures me of the build quality. The cable seems like it belongs in a $2,000 pair of IEMs as well. This setup is not only great bang for the buck, but it's probably great bang for three times that buck. I've used some IEMs at double and triple the price, and they just don't sound like these. At this point I wouldn't even think of anything else. Oh yeah, one more thing, all my listening has been done through YouTube music streaming via Bluetooth to my BTR 7. I have not yet signed up for Tidal, or any of the other lossless music services. I could only imagine how much better they would be. But even on Bluetooth from my phone, these things are insane.

Buscaba auriculares que completaran mi experiencia musical con auriculares. He avanzado en el camino redescubriendo la música que creía conocer. Vi dos revisiones en las que un tal "Corvus" y otro tal "Suprapixel" se mostraban anormalmente apasionados lo que me motivó a hacer una búsqueda más amplia sobre los FIIO FH7S. Encontré un común denominador, un cierto apasionamiento que parecía sincero. Por mi parte he encontrado que son auriculares excelentes, suficientemente divertidos, con gran detalle, con una naturalidad increíble. Perdonan lo que quieras, pero te dejan escuchar si el audio no es bueno. Muy, pero muy inmersivos. Y si te apura que sean semi abiertos, no te preocupes, el aislamiento es comparable a los totalmente cerrados, por mi parte no veo diferencia realmente importante. No diría yo que son caros, los llamaría costosos ya que encuentro que la calidad del sonido y todo lo demás si realmente vale la pena el gasto. Déjalos que se aflojen, dales su periodo de quemado y, como fue en mi caso, disfruta aun más de como se acomoda y mejora la profundidad y las capas de sonido. ¿Recomendables? Por mi parte, te aseguro que totalmente. Si te los puedes dar y quieres quizá, brincarte varios gastos para llegar a auriculares todo terreno con un gran sonido de alta resolución verdadera desde la primera escucha, si date el gusto. Y aclaro, no, no me patrocinan. Solo replico y entiendo la sorpresa y el apasionamiento del tal "Corvus" y del otro tal "Suprapixel" para poder dedicar un poco de letras a este comentario esperando que te pueda servir. P.D. Un celular común los mueve sin problema, pero si le puedes agregar un dongle dac encontrarás que el sonido mejora aun más.

These set of IEMs were highly rated by several reviewers when it first came out about 3 years ago and even to this day. it's a good starter set of IEMs if you are starting out into this wonderful world of audiophile grade of equipment, btw, these sound very much like the FiiO FD series It's got good clean mids and highs, not too forward to where vocals are shouty. Some sibalance occur on some songs but it's not bad. Overall quite clear and airy. 1 DD for bass and has quite a bit of sub bass when the song calls for it. It's not a bass head set of IEMs but enough for most listeners. Overall, this is an excellent set of hybrid IEM.

These are just wonderful sounding IEMs. Very well-balanced sound. The bass is rich and satisfying but it sits so nicely with the rest of the sound and doesn't overpower anything else. Both male and female vocals are natural and beautiful. Treble is so well presented but never fatiguing. I have the Meze 109 Pro headphones which are great, but I need to take a break from them from time to time because the treble is occasionally just a bit too bright for long listening. That's never the case with these IEMs and I never find myself wanting more treble. You may see some YouTube reviews that say the bass is overdone, and bleeds into the mids and highs. That is because they were not using the Fiio HS18 ear tips that come with these. Those tips are fantastic. Yes, with any other ear tips there is a bit too much bass. As long as you use the right size and ensure a good seal the HS18s with these IEMS deliver a mesmerizing perfectly balanced sound. I ordered extra HS18s just so I would always have them on hand. This next part may seem a bit strange, but I bet if you try it, you'll agree. I noticed I got the best sound / seal with the HS18s after a shower. Must have something to do with the residual "humidity" at the contact points of the ear. I bought a small "atomizing" spritzer type spray bottle to spray 3 or 4 shots of water into each ear and then pat down the ear with a paper towel (trying to duplicate the "humidity" not water drenched). Ahh, there it is! That beautifully balanced sound. Otherwise, the HS18s can sound a bit too "thin" without a great seal. As I said all the other tips seem to produce too much bass. With the "Macgyver" solution I found the sweet spot. Lastly, don't judge them without a decent number of break in hours. The first pair I ordered from Amazon would completely go out on the right side from time to time. Amazon sent a free replacement right away and I had 30 days before I had to return the original set. By the time the replacement pair arrived I had about 20 hours on the first set ordered. The right side wasn't always "out" on the original so when I played them back-to-back the difference was enormous. The brand-new replacement without any break-in sounded awful compared to the 20-hour broken in set (when the right side was working). Once the replacement set was broken in it sounded fantastic (with both sides working perfectly including a couple months later as I write this review) and I could confidently send back the first pair ordered. Despite the issue I had with the first ordered pair I think the build quality is fantastic. I highly recommend reviewing the Fiio website description. What other IEMS as this price point comes with such a high-quality cable? The whole time I've been writing this I've been listening to Chris Botti's "Impressions" album in 24-bit FLAC on my Cowon P1. They sound wonderful. I don't think you'd be disappointed with these.
