Worked great- very handy to have for mounting flood/security lights.
Whether you're looking to mount your own flood/security lights, or have an electrician do it, it's a good idea to have a couple of mounting options handy. There are two main types- this one & a straight bar type. They're fairly inexpensive & worth having a spare.

i purchased different ceiling led lights. and each has different mounting plates.... and the last ones i bough . had smaller mounts than usual.. i was not able to mount both screws because the plastic mount was to small to reach the other screw hole... so i purchased this plate. and it worked perfect for mount the hardware the lights gave me to my old ceiling box.. also included some screws and wire caps.. great value. simple to install..

Definitely recommended for new home construction ceiling fan installs
I recently bought some fans online and was very surprised that they did not come with these brackets. While YES, you technically could install a fan WITHOUT this in a new construction home, the problem is, over time, the fan will become loose. It is a future problem, not a current problem. Having seen a friend who had a ceiling fan LITERALLY sway back and forth from it's socket, I decided against saving $5 per ceiling fan and bought this item. By having this bracket, it helps stabilize the ceiling fan a little bit more. 100% more so than installing without this bracket. Wish they sold this without the extra screws (to lower cost), but not a big deal.Highly recommended for a SAFER ceiling fan install (if your ceiling fan did not come with these brackets!)

Old light junction boxes suck
This makes installing new lights and fans a breeze… dad joke there. Expands the 3inch box so it can accommodate modern fixtures. A quality part for cheap shipped to your door in what feels like minutes.
