Does the job perfectly for a fairly low cost.
This works perfectly, so you really know if your plants in pots or hanging baskets need water or not, and it surprised me just how the lower part of a pot or hanging basket still retains a lot of moisture even when the top of the pot or hanging basket looks very dry so helping to avoid root rot.Don't forget to wipe the tip of the probe each time you test a pot or hanging basket with a tissue or bit of cloth, so you don't get a false reading on the next pot or hanging basket that you test, and it is very easy to use.

Xlux brand soil moisture meter - works like a dream
Looking exactly like the seller's own pictures, I ordered this product based upon the reviews of previous customers on Amazon. I have to say, those customers were right and I'm glad I followed their advice. This is so simple to use I wish I had known about it a long time ago. It isn't easy to judge whether plants really need watering, especially plants grown in pots and tubs. The surface compost might look and feel dry as a bone but half way down it could be waterlogged - and no doubt many of us have lost plants because of overwatering. This little device can put an end to that guesswork. Take a soft cloth or tissue and wipe the end, place it into the compost or soil, and immediately you will get a reading from red (very dry) to blue (very wet). An instant visual aid to know whether you need to water the plant. More than one plant to check? Take the product out of the plant pot, wipe the end again, place it into the next pot to get a reading from there. It only takes seconds (well, minutes if you have a lot of potted plants like I do) but at least you no longer have to guess and at least you are not likely to kill off a plant from overwatering.I am pleased I bought this and have used it numerous times - in fact, it has stopped me watering plants that I thought were dry and so likely saved them. Everyone with potted plants surely needs this product and I like the fact that it gives an immediate reading, unlike some others on the market that have to be left in the soil/compost for a while. Easy to recommend this.

Reliable and Easy-to-Use Soil Moisture Meter
I recently purchased the XLUX Soil Moisture Meter, Plant Water Monitor, and Hygrometer, and it has proven to be a very helpful tool for maintaining my plants' health. Here’s my detailed review:What I Like:- Accurate Readings: The moisture meter provides accurate and consistent readings. It helps me determine the precise moisture level in the soil, ensuring that I water my plants appropriately.- Easy to Use: The device is very user-friendly. Simply insert the probe into the soil, and the moisture level is displayed instantly. No batteries or complicated setup are required.- Clear Display: The analog display is easy to read, with clear markings that indicate whether the soil is dry, moist, or wet. This straightforward design makes it simple to understand the moisture status at a glance.- Versatile Use: The meter is suitable for a wide range of plants, both indoors and outdoors. I’ve used it for houseplants, garden beds, and even potted herbs, and it works well in all scenarios.- Durable Construction: The probe and overall construction feel sturdy and well-made. It has held up well to repeated use and insertion into different types of soil. What I Dislike:- Probe Length: The probe could be a bit longer for deeper pots or garden beds. While it’s sufficient for most indoor plants and smaller pots, it might not reach the root zone of larger plants or deep garden beds.- No Additional Features: The device measures only soil moisture. It would be more versatile if it included additional measurements like soil pH or light levels. However, for its intended purpose, it works perfectly.Value for Money:The XLUX Soil Moisture Meter offers good value for money. Its accuracy, ease of use, and durability make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to improve their plant care routine. Conclusion:Overall, I am very satisfied with the XLUX Soil Moisture Meter, Plant Water Monitor, and Hygrometer. It provides reliable moisture readings and is incredibly easy to use. Despite minor limitations like the probe length and lack of additional features, it excels at its primary function of monitoring soil moisture. I would recommend this product to any plant enthusiast or gardener looking for a dependable tool to help maintain optimal watering practices.Would I buy it again? Yes!

Easy and effective
Once you have lightly sanded the probe tip (think it has some protective coating on or somwthing) Tthis is such an easy tool to use and lets you know immediately if you really need to water your house plants (works on garden plants too, but obviously only as deep as the probe goes). Hopefully it’ll stop me overwatering them in future.

Perfect for the job.....
Great little tool. If you're anything like me and tend to over water your plants (indoor or outdoor) then this will help you loads! Use it all the time. Never water any of my plants now without using this first 👍🏻

Works well to avoid overwatering
Seems to work well, useful for tricky plants (I'm an accidental plant killer, usually from overwatering)
