I use it in a 27 year old 2.5d Peugeot Talbot Express Motorhome and it has served me well. I'm not a mechanic, so not aware of what engine you have in your Merc, but if its an old style diesel engine, then I'm sure it will be fine. Best to ask an 'old school' Merc mechanic, to be absolutely sure - if you can find one.
