Expensive, but fit the purpose. No assembly needed. perfect design, strong quality. Stable and nice color, but there are no drainage holes. That must enhance the stability. Nice and fat, works great! Worth every penny, for the job it does.

This is the second saucer from this manufacturer I have bought. All I needed was a saucer that could be used as a bird bath during winter, having shut down our fountain for the winter. We live in Colorado at 5000' elevation and I really don't care to operate the fountain during winter months. This saucer fits the bill perfectly. The first saucer I bought was identical to this most recent purchase, other than the color. The saucer lasted through 3 winters without a problem. Finally, though, it succumbed. I do use a bird bath heater, placing it atop a flat, thin rock which I have set in the center, bottom of the saucer, not wanting to have the heater in direct contact with the saucer. I then cover the heater with another flat, thin rock. Eventually, after 3 years, the saucer bottom cracked, thus the new saucer. Hey, a plastic saucer lasting 3 years with freezing temps, snow, sprinkled with 50, 60 and 70 degree days, a water heater keeping water from freezing, birds, squirrels, raccoons and who know what else helping themself to a drink of water and that saucer lasts 3 years?!? You bet I'll buy another when it gives up the ghost. I've had this one now since December '22 and no problems, soon to be put away for the summer. I don't expect to buy another until 2025 and will buy this again . . . but, maybe a third color this time.

This is the perfect size to act as a bird bath. I know some of you may be looking at this to put underneath your plants and of course it would work for that as well. But I'm always looking for alternatives to make places where birds can come and enjoy a little drink of water in this heat. For the size you can't beat it. Heavy duty plastic. Easy to clean.

I received this planter saucer on the expected delivery date with no damages. It is very light and thin as described. Is its light weight a plus? I honest don't know. Since it is not something I will move or carry around on a frequent basis. weight of saucer is my least concern. I am using it outdoors. We have hot sunny summers, snow and freezing winters. Durability and holding its shape under weight of the planter with the potting soil and plant and ability to retain its color are the important attributes that I am looking for especially its price is not that cheap. When ordering, please pay special attention to the pictorial diagram showing just the dimensions of the saucer to get a good fit. Use the chart (pale blue color letters) showing the dimensions of the planters if you already have the planter sold by HC or are buying the planter & saucer as a pair now. If you use the dimension published in the dimension to order, chances are it won't fit since most planters have a sloping sidewall. It is likely the bottom diameter of the saucer is too small. Description says it is made out of plastic only. I wish it can be a bit more specific. Plastic is a term that covers a wide range of material. The item is stamped Made in USA. The manufacturing process of this item is rather simple and non labor intensive. Making them in China may not have much of an advantage in terms of cost. The quality of material and conformity to the material specification are important factors. Consumer perception is items made in a certain country overseas are sub-quality and often not what material is said to be. Hence, the preference of buying products that are made in USA. In my opinion, the use of the correct type of material is essential in meeting the service specification. More specifics on the material would be desireable.

I bought this to make an extra bird bath and it works well for what I needed.
