It's been a few years and one of the lights has a short it in, the design doesn't really allow it to be fixed. So I bought this set, which works great and hopefully will last at least as long as the previous one did. Each light has it's own on/off switch, and it comes with one regular bulb and one UV bulb.

**Q: Can I use a regular household 100w lightbulb for heat? The heat light that came with the kit died after one use!**
A: No, a regular light bulb doesn’t emit UV light and definitely doesn’t create enough heat.  Reptiles like to bask in the sun, one bulb won’t cut it. Check your wiring to make sure your power source can handle 200W (correct voltage, working outlet, no daisy-chained power strips, etc) and buy new UV and Heat basking bulbs at a pet store.  They are expensive, but that’s just part of it.

**Q: does this come with lights?**
A: Yes it comes with a heat lamp & a sun lamp.

**Q: Can this sit right on top of tank or do I need purchase a clamp/stand for it?**
A: It can sit right on top if you have a screen cover.

**Q: Can I set the lamp on a wired cage top? Or do the lights stick out to much?**
A: The UV-B lamp supplied with it sticks past the housing 1/3"... 12/1/2015

### ⭐ Defective Product.

I purchased 2 of these. Waited almost 2 weeks to receive the product and when I did, I switched the products on, there were a couple of flickering noise, right after, smoke came out of the socket and the bulbs just stopped working. I was quite scared that the bulbs would blow up or cause my entire electrical component to fuse causing other problems so I immediately turned everything off. FYI, this happened to both of the products with the UVB Bulb. The UVA/Heat bulb just blew up after using for 30 mins and the other was not working from the very beginning. Poor Product, Poor customer service from the sellers. Highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere and not waste your time and effort in trying out this product.
