I received this smoke alarm and was genuinely pleased with it. First off, installation couldn’t have been easier. It’s lightweight and compact, which makes fitting it straightforward. If you don’t want to drill into your ceiling, it’s light enough to attach using adhesive pads (obviously making sure they’re suitable and secure). For anyone who isn’t keen on DIY or making holes in the ceiling, that’s a real plus. The 10-year sealed lithium battery is a big selling point for me. No annual battery changes, no annoying low-battery chirps in the middle of the night after a year — it’s designed to last the full lifespan of the alarm. That alone makes it feel like a fit-and-forget safety upgrade. It uses Thermoptek multi-sensor technology, which combines optical sensing with thermal enhancement. In simple terms, it’s designed to respond quickly to slow smouldering fires as well as fast flaming ones, while reducing false alarms from cooking fumes. So far, no random beeping when making toast, which is always reassuring! The alarm itself is loud and clear when tested, and the test button is easy to press. It feels solid and well made without being bulky. Overall, this is a reliable, fuss-free smoke alarm that does exactly what you want it to do. Easy to install, no battery replacements to worry about, and good peace of mind. I’d happily recommend it.

Built in "10 year" battery - we will have to see how that goes. It fits on our old smoke alarm's mounting plate (and comes with an adaptor for a different type if needed?). A must for any home.

I bought this to replace an old smoke alarm of the same make but different model. It took literally seconds to slot it into the existing fitting on the ceiling and it works perfectly. Nice big button in the middle that you just press to test it. Have had Fire Angels in the past which have always been good; the last one I had, which was a light-socket unit, has only just run out of juice - the battery was only holding a charge for about 24 hours - and when I took it down I noticed that it said I should replace it in 2013! Five extra years is pretty good going, so if my new one is only half as good I should still get plenty of years out of it.

Good product, easier to put up, Easier to hear Once mounted when it time to replace or needs clearing just turn it and it comes and replace it with a new or after cleaning by holding and turning there only needs the mounting one i have found the alarm are inter changeable Easy to test on test it Tuesday all you need in a stick to push the button and will beep 3 time to let you know it works Down side Alarm goes of at random time when there NO smoke Sometime the built in battery has just died in months. But report to Fire angel for free replacement NOTE dose NOT meet new Scottish laws
