It's pretty sturdy, but I wouldn't think the cats face would withstand multiple washes before it started to fade. I've had mine a few years and it's still like new having just a half hearted wash with a bit of gentle dish soap after each use. **Q: Can you put a tea bag in it?** A: I can't see why not. You'd have to dunk the fish a fair few times to ensure the water flowed around the leaves to get a proper brew, but the fish is pretty big. I use it for chamomile. Fill one half with flowers and once the tea is made they have soaked up water and swelled up to twice the size. **Q: Is there a way to choice which colour you get?** A: I don't think so, I have the black one and he's gorgeous **Q: Is there a way to pick which Colour you buy?** A: I think they are just sent randomly. However the holes are rather large so I wouldn't recomend using it for anything that is too finely ground. I tried my peppermint tea in it and although the leaves were quite roughly cut they still found their way through into the cup, I know there will always be some that gets through no matter what you use but this was enough to cover the bottom of the mug.
