Better than many more expensive irons I've used!
Had one similar for a few years but it fell out of the car once and broke so got this one today...I've used many products over time some not as good as others but this I admit is a good one and also the price...As a seamstress and busy mother I tested this out at soon as it arrived this morning and it was brilliant...made fast light work of large items like bed covers and curtains...whizzed over seven pairs of jeans also within a few seconds ready to tackle light fine fabrics and silk items...Lifted vertical and near the fabric hit the under finger grip on the handle spray button and lightly air brushed over hung sheer fabrics on hangers no problem and great results with no scorch or shirring of the fabric...So timed at total if 18 minutes managed to professionally press and steam hung...Three pair of curtains, three sets of pure cotton bedsets..( fitted sheets, pillow cases and comforter covers) seven pair of jeans/ dungarees, 3 cotton ladies Summer dresses two men's dress shirts and a full basket of smaller items including t-shirts and linen shorts! The finish top quality. The iron and base are light to move and easy to pack to store as all fits into the open cavity...the water purification filter easy to attach and remove to replace when needed...quiet warm up Function and small bleep when ready to use the steam function whist being used is a lot quieter than other I've used which more expensive albeit sounded like blowing thro a large trunk horn but this one has a quiet soft buzz while in use...I'm extremely impressed with this particular iron and would recommend to many from novice to professional but for the normal household it's a must!

Produces good results but has it's drawbacks
As my old iron was a Tefal I decided to replace it with another Tefal when it finally failed, as the current replacements for my old model start at £150 I went for this one.To me this model has some serious drawbacks, firstly the lack of a lock to hold the iron to the base makes lifting and storing in a cupboard above waist height risky, the lack of a proper power lead storage system makes moving and storing the iron with the lead dangling awkward. The iron has a non removable water tank which wouldn't be so bad if the water line was visible through the blue plastic. One last point is that this iron comes with replaceable anti scale cartridges rather than the collector rod in my old iron which simply needed the occasional clean, while a cartridge system is convenient I can't help feeling that it is a step backwards and just leads to more plastic going into the waste bin.On the plus side it's light irons well and produces good results, at Amazons price it's not a bad buy more a reasonable buy, it's relatively cheap for a Tefal generator iron.

Good Value, Good Worker, just a small design flaw
I had a Morphy Richards before this one which served me well but started to leak. What I like about this one compared to the Morphy Richards is the size and weight. It lives on a high shelf and being able to lift it more easily is great. Also, hiding the large cable is a very neat idea. It does the job as well as the old one. What I don't like is that, because of the colour of the water tank, it's very difficult to see the water level.

Not very happy
I am afraid I did not enjoy using this item as the other one I had was much better

I was a little disappointed with this product
I was a little disappointed with this product. This first time I used it brown liquid came out of the steam iron and soiled myclothes. Unfortunately I had to send it back.

it took me a while to get the steam to work but the communication with the seller during this time was excellent & they were very helpful
I received this on the expected due date, it took me a while to get the steam to work but the communication with the seller during this time was excellent & they were very helpful. This iron is fantastic it makes light work of ironing & gets crease out really well. Very pleased with this product & the service from the seller

Half the price of a pressurised model - but a false economy
If this iron is at the top of your price point, then read no further. I’m comparing this Tefal to a Morphy Richards and a Philips, both twice the price, but it might help you to know the compromises you may be making by not spending more.My first steam generator iron was a pressurised Morphy Richards 42221, £100, (replaced by 330017 £130), and my third was a pressurised Philips (GC7805 £120). My second, this UN-pressurised Tefal SV5021, £60, was nowhere near as good, BUT it was about half the price. I bought it thinking I could get the same performance for half the price – you can’t and I returned it. At this price point the Tefal MAY be the best there is - but you get what you pay for.The Tefal;1) Is UNpressurised – the steam generation is more erratic and more likely to have water instead of steam coming out; pressurised steam is hotter than non-pressurised, and you get more of it and more consistently.2) Iron (the bit you hold to iron) is heavy; Tefal 1.4kg vs Philips 1.1kg.3) Has about half the number of holes in the sole-plate (note the picture of the sole-plate is misleading/incorrect)4) Seemed to iron creases in rather than out – I suspect this is because it relies more on the heat of the iron than the steam to take out creases.5) Had rubber feet on the base station that fell off almost immediately – poor at any price6) Instructions were in pictograms rather than words which was unhelpful & irritating, but granted didn’t affect the iron.On a more positive note, the Tefal;1) Has relatively easy de-scaling (certainly compared to the Morphy Richards)2) Has filters so you shouldn’t need to de-scale as often, but more expensive models have easier and more effective de-scaling removing the need for filters.3) Is half the price of pressurised models and may be good enough for what you want.As an aside, my Morphy Richards lasted only 4 years and was a pain to de-scale. I’m pleased with the Philips – it relies solely on the steam to take out the creases, adjusts the hot-plate temperature automatically and never gets very hot (you can leave it sole-plate down on the ironing board and it won’t cause damage).

Perfect
I bought it for a gift and my friend loves it. It is the best steam iron and honestly it makes the job so easier. However the only negative point I will say is that is releasing a lot of steam. But it is steady and works amazingly
