It is strong smelling, mainly of shea that's overpowering enough to border chemical smell but it's manageable. The scent does dull after application and soaked in though. Lost a star due to this as it is a shock when you use it for the first time. I'm a very pale red head and after the first application I had slight colour on my top half within a couple hours but took about 12hours to show anything on my legs. Doesn't look orange at all which is an issue I've had with other brands. It stays wet long enough to get good coverage and buff out but drys fast enough you can be getting dressed 10minutes later.
