Anyway, to my amazement, it said there's no on/off switch but all you have to do is tap the canvas to switch it on and tap it to switch it off. Well I stumbled on this when I used it but I didn't realise it was deliberate - I thought it was just an convenient accident due to bad wiring. So that's exactly how I was turning it off and on all Christmas - tapping it once for on and once for off. I was amazed it always worked! But now I know why. Why they don't just state this in the product description I don't know. It could save a lot of confusion.
