Great British Cars celebrates the cars commonly seen on the nation’s roads during a golden age of motoring. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Britons drove such models as the Ford Zephyr, Hillman Imp, Triumph Herald, Ford Capri, Vauxhall Viva and, of course, the Morris Minor 1000. While rarely seen now on our roads, the 40 models described here still have a special place in many drivers’ hearts. Join Stephen Barnett on a nostalgic road trip back in time, in this beautifully illustrated celebration of classic cars. Review: Sit back in your favourite chair and enjoy this book - This book has a good sense of balance: plenty of facts but not so technical as to be arduous. The author writes as if he is having a conversation with a fellow car nostalgist. The period illustrations are plentiful and absorbing in themselves. This is a book which brings back happy memories, teaches you some things you may not have known, and - most of all - leaves you with a feeling of contentment I have found. Review: Classic cars - I was really impressed with the book just what I wanted for my dad as he is 89 years old and has had quite a number of the models in the book

Great British Cars
I have an example of a car mentioned in the book. You might never guess which one but someone putting a vinyl roof on it did work wonders for keeping out rust. This was, long second hand, an unusual car for me to get as my first ever and I still have it, as I've never been able to let it go. It's lived in the garage with a succession of new ones. I guess this confirms what the author says in the epilogue about such motors. As for the rest in the book, they all populated my 60s childhood. Classics? It never occurred to me as a kid. But special they are and I enjoyed reading about them again. Many thanks.

Wunderbare Übersicht
Absolut zufrieden damit. Ein Kreuz- und Quer durch die britische Automobil Geschichte und die unzähligen Hersteller vergangener Tage. Für mich immer wieder spannend die Typenvielzahl und den Charakter britischer Autos in einem Buch konzentriert erlesen zu können.
