Fast paced, fun, fluctuating game.
I have played both Pirate Fluxx and Monty Python Fluxx before, and decided to get this version for my brother, an aficionado of sci-fi, for Christmas. We opened it on the day, it was one of the few games we played that day around family responsibilities (Star Trek Catan, Pandemic, Coup and 7 Wonders got pushed to the side). This is without a doubt my favourite version. The games seem to have a much faster pace, and there is a lot of variety in the Keepers and Creepers. For those who haven't played Fluxx before, you play cards in turn depending on the rules played previously. At the beginning, you draw one card from the deck and play one card from your hand. But later, someone might play a 'Play All' card, which means everyone has to play everything in their hand every turn. The victory conditions fluctuate as much as the rules do, it becomes a very fun, very easy to learn game, that can take anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour. I would strongly recommend this to any newcomers to Fluxx.

Brilliant!
As someone new to playing card games I thought I'd give this a try as it seemed fairly straightforward and fun. It doesn't disappoint. Games can last anything from 10 - 15 minutes to half an hour or more depending on what rule changes you decide to play. Although, I will admit there are some cards that seem to have fairly ambiguous wording that left us to make decisions on how they should be played ourselves, but it didn't take away from the fun. While I can see how this would be far more entertaining with a few more players, it works great with just the two of us and I can see it being the kind of thing that would pop into a travel bag (for when we can do things like that again) to play on the go. However, it does benefit from a decent amount of table space.

Fun, easy-to-learn drinking game that’s perfect for nights with friends.
Flux is a really good fun drinking game, especially with a group of friends. It’s easy to pick up after a couple of rounds, and the rules aren’t complicated, so everyone can get involved pretty quickly. It’s definitely more suited to friends rather than a family setting, as it can get a bit lively. The box is nice and compact too, which makes it easy to take to parties or on a trip. Overall, a great little game for a fun night in.

I love this game.
The rules are so straight forward as you learn as you play. The cards you play change the rules, so it's such a fun and easy game for non-gamers! Arrived a lot faster than expected. Estimated it would take three months to deliver, yet just took under two weeks.

Great game - fits in your pocket.
This is a great game. It can get a little intense the more people that are involved, but that only makes the experience more fun. I was first introduced to this a few years ago, but thought that it was about time that I bought my own version. I'm so glad that I did, as it has allowed me to while a away those quiet nights with a bit more fun. It is also good as it is only the size of a pack of cards, so it is easy to stick in your luggage if you ever go away anywhere, as you never know when you may need them for some impromtu fun. There are many different versions of this game (pirate etc), so I think I may have to invest in some more! Worth the 5 stars.

May the Nerd be with you
Fluxx is the card game that's always changing. The rules change as you play the game and so does the goal. Sound confusing? It really isn't! The cards tell you exactly what to do. The rules are written on one card and it's all you need to know. The game is very enjoyable and funny, and you will get a good laugh playing. Even when you think you're about to win, you might actually lose! This version of Fluxx is for the sci fi lover. It references Star Trek, Hitchiker's Guide, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and more! A great buy, and if you have any problems the people at Looney Labs are absolutely amazing (and hilarious).

Very fun and tactical
I've played with a few friends already - and we all love it! It's nothing like anything we've ever played before and once a lot of rules are in play it can get really tactical and hectic! It's incredibly simple to understand with pretty much 5 base rules and the game can get super complicated once lots of cards are in play (which definitely is not a bad thing!). I would definitely recommend everyone to play this - it's so good to play for a few hours per session, but anything more than 4/5 players and the rounds can get really long sometimes.

Fluxx - Addictive Yet Satisfying
I first played the std version of Fluxx with my games playing buddies last year and it was great fun, easy to play almost anywhere you have a flat surface to put the cards on. This version has more fiendish 'surprise' cards and a theme that loosly nods towards Star Trek, Dr Who, Hitchhikers Guide and any space SciFi kind of theme really. My family and I play games over christmas and this was a real hit this year - even when the alchol began to flow and the contant rule changes make you head hurt the laughs just keep on coming. It's great - if you like games you'll love Fluxx

I really like this game. A lot. It's simple to understand and very interesting because the goals and the rules can keep changing. The game is constantly in flux. It's fun and really likeable but I would advise you to play it with a group of people that like trying out different things and experimenting and do not expect games to -always- finish within 15 minutes.

The best Fluxx to date. Fluxx v5 is the best-ever version of a really great game, meaning there is no better time to get into the game. This is the perfect base set, which you can play by itself or use in conjunction with the many other expansions. What is Fluxx? The game starts simply. On your turn, you Draw 1 card from the deck, and Play 1 card from your hand. What is the Goal of the game? Well that's the fun- the other Rules and Goals of the game are cards that you play! So on your turn you might play the Goal card "Milk and Cookies", which states that the player with the "Milk" and "Cookies" cards in play wins the game. But the next person might play "Chocolate Milk", which replaces the old Goal, so now you have to own "Milk" and "Chocolate" in order to win. The rules are always changing, so you have to pay attention. The game keeps going like this, playing new Rules and Goals, until someone has fulfilled a Goal card and wins the game. Anyone old enough to read can play and enjoy a game of Fluxx. And if all these rules get to be too much, there are cards like Rules Reset to get rid of rules and go back to the simple "Draw 1, Play 1" mechanic. It's frantic, fun, and stimulating. What is Fluxx 5.0? There have been a few versions of the base game, and more than anything what each version adds is improved rules- which are written directly on the cards as well as having a "Frequently Asked Questions" on the rules sheet. Each set also has improved art on the cards. A few cards are new in each version, but the major difference compared to Version 4 is the removal of "Creepers". Creepers are cards that prevent you from winning the game. Thematically, they work really well with some sets (Zombie Fluxx) but they aren't really appropriate for the base game. Removing them was a smart step, and people who enjoyed those cards can either purchase the old Version 4 or an expansion set that has those cards. For new players or returning players who need a new deck, Fluxx 5.0 is the best ever. What's the Catch? The only "bad" part about Fluxx is that it's not a very serious game. The winner is mostly decided by luck- it's entirely possible (although very rare) that you will begin the game with the right combination of cards to win on the first turn. So really, this is meant to be a fun table game just for some laughs, to be played in a few fairly quick rounds. Generally my group of friends will open the evening with a game of Fluxx to get everyone "warmed up" for other games. This Sounds Complicated... It's not! Honestly, one experienced player can get a table full of new players into a game in about two minutes. A group of people who have never seen the game before can probably get going in about five minutes- most rules are written on the cards, and there are plenty of clarifications as well as an example game on the rules sheet included in the box. Don't be intimidated! Fluxx is a quirky, fun, chaotic, smart, card game. This is one of the very few games in the world that really deserves to market itself as making you smarter when you play it. Having to pay attention to the ever-changing rules and constantly adapt to new strategies as you draw new cards gives your brain a workout without ever being too challenging. The game is never much harder than a hand of Poker or Solitaire, and yet you'll soon find yourself amazed that you're negotiating a table covered in new Rules and ever-changing Goals. Fluxx has now become *the* introductory game among my friends, where if we're meeting someone who hasn't played board games with us before, we immediately start a game of Fluxx. Add it to your game night now.
